Lol play the game don't play the game nobody cares man. I'm older then 25 and I'm not complaining. It's called working towards something. If the game is old 4 days and ur complaining because u haven't unlocked **** then don't play. The game is suppose to last a year so u play it all year.

It's a shame you can buy VC to boost your player .

I miss the old days of grinding literally everything you earned .

      Anyone agree ?

This! Exactly this! Fixing the imbalance between amount of points earned would really solve everything. It's just not feasible to put in the amount of time required for all this stuff. I don't mind putting in time and work to improve my player, that's fun and we don't want it to be too easy, but it becomes very easy if you're willing to fork over more of your cash.

So I was already pissed when I found out that my MyCareer dude was going to be paid in coins instead of regular money denominations (I'm not 7 years old, it looks dumb & it feels dumb)...but then I see that the coins come in drips and drabs to entice the player to buy VC if they're not going to devote hours upon hours of Play-Now or online games...and it's infuriating.

The way they went about it in MyCareer is all wrong. Attributes and accessories shouldn't be governed and earned by the same currency. The system they had last year was perfect. Skill points & money to do whatever else you wanted. It wasn't broken, they should have left it.

I hate these arguments..."you earn VC for everything you do in the game..." man...I don't even....

What if you purchased the game solely for one mode, and people are telling you "oh...just play the other modes, earn fake money...to spend in that mode so you can improve your character, and.....yea..."

2K created a job within a video game, so you can play a mode that's essentially a fake job....within a video game. That, or pay real money, for fake money, so you can enjoy your fake job...in the video game.

If you're over the age of 16 and that seems perfectly logical to you, therein lies the problem. You ain't thinking straight.

Its a non issue to me. Ive bought VC and am not ashamed of it. It helps me to get along on some of these modes where I cant play a bunch of games, being a working man with not as much time to play. I do hope it is balanced a bit more, to where you can play for enough to make a difference or buy more to get you over your humps.

People who make myteams with 6 or 7 gold players before they even make 7th seed are ridiculous individuals and probably suck any way. They will have to keep buying VCs to even play a game so its pointless to worry yourself with them. They will play the game for a month or so till COD comes out.

              ???

And just because you don't think there's a problem, doesn't mean a problem is non-existent. See how that works?

I didn't design 2K's game, but I'm pretty sure I can speak for those who are put-off by the way both accessories and attributes are purchased/improved with the same currency. That makes it look like a money-grab.

How is telling me to "deal with it" any more american than saying "hey wait...guys, it was fine last year...why change? ohhhhh you want more money outside of wholesale distribution? well that's cool, but did you have to embed it in MyCareer to the point where there's VIRTUALLY no choice but to buy VC?"

Games have done this for years, but MyCareer feels like it was designed to get the money. People fussed and whined about micro-transactions in Madden...I didn't. Because you could play the game normally and achieve those very same things.

500 tokens a year in MyCareer, and then pricing things at 1500 tokens...things like headbands and wristbands...oh while also making you use tokens to improve attributes...is not quite the same.

Playing MyCareer normally, you'd have to specifically play the game to earn enough Mario coins to either improve your guy or buy accessories for said guy.

Remember, I'm speaking from a standpoint of someone playing that one specific mode. Each mode is designed to be a self-contained mode, no? Why in the hell should I have to play online or exhibition games to play MC mode?

But I guess I can't question the design of the game because I didn't make it? I thought consumers could question the product....I guess I've been living in a different America than you.

Im 30 and remember a time when I would pay to join gaming networks (like TEN) so I could get some good online Quake games. Its nothing new. I agree with you some what though, but i dont care enough to make a stink about it. If im too lazy to play a bunch of games I'll probably buy more VC again so I can have the experience I want on the game.

Micro transactions are already very prominent with gaming companies, 2k was smart to jump on board. It's not going away. Game development and support costs are going up...so it's either stuff like this where you can choose to spend money, or you can pay more than $60 for new games. I prefer the choice option.
People are so simple. What choice do you have when you don't have Internet connection on your system to access my player store? They removed this feature from offline mode. Seriously what choice is there? Think before posting next time!

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I mean...I've purchased skill points on MLB The Show so I can have a pitcher who throws hard right from the get-go. I don't carer that VC is in the game, I don't care that people buy it.

The only difference between 2K13, and MLB 12 is that I could play the game for a few days, earn skill points, and have a hard throwing pitcher. The odds aren't stacked against me doing so, just to make me buy skill points.

But in 2K13, if you want to start MyCareer with a headband, sleeve, and rubber band...it's buy VC, or play other modes to earn the VC, THEN you can get all of those things. That's a little off-putting.

It's just not a good look.

Edit: Maybe I should take back that "if you're over 16 comment" but we all know that games have their blind devotees, and each iteration of it is perfect in their eyes. It's more-so those folks that bother me than anything else, and I guess you can't slap an age range on that. (not accusing adwin7, or anyone else. But you guys know who you are.)

Re: Stop Buying Virtual Currency, please

Here is my problem with the whole "you don't have to buy it, its optional" thing:

The amount of skill points you use to earn in My Player is now FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAR less than previous installments. Do all of the people disagreeing with the OP know that for scoring 75 points in a game in MyCareer you get a measly 150 coins?

150 COINS??!!? That's not even half enough to buy a bronze player. I don't remember what the reward use to be, but I doubt its any lower than 5000 skill points, which was a ton towards improving your player.

The bottom line here is that 2k purposely made VC extremely difficult to earn, and to compound that they made things like accessories more expensive than they should be(600 for a leg sleeve?.....lol). Their goal is too FORCE people to buy VC. If they had kept VC earning equivelant or similar to that in 2k11, 2k12 and made things less expensive, then buying VC simply becomes an alternative option or an advantage but as it is now, you can't continue to do what you could 2k11 and 2k12 without buying VC.

It's hardly a choice when they've tipped the scales soooo heavily in favor of one option. I'm kind of stubborn and don't want to support this tactic so I'll continue to grind. I just have to remember not to go into myCareer if disconnected from their servers, another thing that compounds the issue. Now even after grinding up to 1000 VC after a couple hours of play, I can't use my earnings to improve my player. Time to start over.

I do not like the direction that the game has seemingly took. Virtual currency is a very stupid idea and I don't like it. They should have just left that aspect the way it was last year. Spending currency to "buy" an armband? And that same currency is what is used for skill boosts? It is stupid.
