Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
We're just being realistic and wanting to make sure the devs understand the root cause of the problem.
Ronny simply said offensive rebounds would be toned down without mentioning box outs. We can tone down rebounds ourselves with sliders but it's clearly not the right fix-- so it's cause for concern. We've seen superficial fixes by 2K in the past that didn't address systemic issues, and as a developer, I've been guilty of that myself in instances when I didn't fully understand a problem.
We just want to make sure 2K understands the situation and gets it right. I have some confidence in them because they've fixed it right before. The 2K11 patch was fantastic. At the same time, the problem comes back every year, so it's kind of a wash.
I will say that I have some hope that 2K13 will be incredible after the patch-- because there are really only a few major issues, and they're very obvious ones that are easily reproducable so a fix is likely, that is, if 2K is as devoted to postgame support as they were on 2K11:
1. Lack of AI boxouts.
2. Lack of contact/defense in the paint and ease scoring with post moves.
3. Lack of contact/defense on drives.
4. Broken playcalling/CPU fastbreaks on every rebound/high CPU points in paint.
5. Open shots (and shots in general) going in too often. This one is probably easily remedied by sliders, but it'd be good for that to be part of stock gameplay.
A few tweaks, a few bug fixes, and we're pretty much gold.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

Pessimism doesn't equal whining. Why is it that anytime somebody says something that's not sunshine and rainbows about the game you're quick to say they're whining?
Anyway, i'm glad to hear that they at least realize it needs to be fixed(don't know why they would release it like that anyway though.). Hopefully they'll be able to patch it correctly. If they do, it'll be a HUUGE deal to me. It'll make the game soo much better.
"I put CPU rebounding at 0.... Works perfect IMHO."
Eh, the problem with that is, then you feel too overpowered on rebounds. It's not that people don't want the CPU to get any rebounds and just want to out rebound them every time, they just want rebounds to be grabbed realistically.
I also didn't mention sunshine because personally if I'm enjoying anything i don't care what people think
I see way more than you do and people come here year after to Nissan and complain no matter what
Its not imaginary
But this is a thread about simmerin something being addressed, no reason to come in this thread to wine about it again and again
Some of the same people are in any thread they can get in saying the same thing
There's your answer

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
I don't even bother trying to box out any more, ****ing waste of time. Love finishing 4min Q games being out offensive rebounded by 10+ with Memphis. I've only ever played on HOF so I wouldn't know if this would be the case on other levels.Comment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
One of the easiest ways to fix this issue is to just make sliders editable in all modes. That way when players run into issues they can at least try to fix it through sliders. Lowering offensive rebounding to 25 and increasing defensive rebounding 75 is a big step in the right direction in fixing the problem (probably should also remove the idea that tips are offensive rebounds, which is the main reason why rebounding is so high in the game in the first place when you enforce this change), but since no one can edit sliders in MyCareer (except for the PC) they're stuck waiting for the devs to fix it.Comment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
Hopefully this link works...
Ronnie says he agrees CPU offensive rebounding needs to be toned down and dev is aware. This is great news.
Seriously, if this is indeed patched I may never put this game down. The game play is so great everywhere else. This has been my only complaint so far, and a lot of you on this board know I've been complaining about it lolComment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
That is not true, I play 12 min quarters and don't have 120 point games. It all depends on how the user plays the game.Comment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
IMO lack of blocks is a lot more urgent than reboundingComment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
sim blocked shots stats is off too. the only real problem i have with the game is that the CPU never tries to slow it down, and players dont shoot when open. all they do is attack the basket. whhich is like the exact opposite of last year. if only they could create that perfect balance hahaComment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
Rebounding needs a serious fix it just seems like you can never time your jump right and when you try to box out you end up moving away from the defender. another thing is the tips its getting ridiculous how after the tip 99% of the time it ends up in the cpu handsComment

Re: Ronnie tweets Off Rebounding is being addressed
I was in denial about Off rebounds being a problem until Faried pulled 9 on me & dropped 25. Most of the points because its nearly impossible to block anyone after a Off rebound.Celtics, Nets
