My keys are dont over shoot or aquire any bad shot selections
Turnovas to 2 a game MAX
Keep your coach happy by running different play and screens
Praise your coach if your happy with your minutes
Dont ask to play more with a particular player bcos the GM will strip minutes off you to accomidate for them lol
Dee up on your man!! If your struggling call double teams!! This is very important!!
Play real ball n dont cheese!!
I think post game interviews also affect the rotation
Dont play like kobe and youll be fine!!
All the tips are nice but they have nothing to do with the problem. Its real simple, a bug 2k needs to fix.

Being benched after breaking Wilt's scoring record is a clear sign the game is bugged. Even if what you said had any truth to it would mean the game is super flawed and my player minutes are about as realistic as the 500 coins we get for salary.

There will never be a time in NBA history that a Rookie leading the league in scoring, FG% almost averaging a triple double, 1st in allstar votes, MVP, Defensive player of the year, Sixth man award "from being benched so much" would be fighting for minutes behind a 60 rated player.

It's an issue that needs to be repaired but who cares if you drop 50 every game as a rookie..play how you want games aren't made to be completely realistic

I get a full green circle from the coach EVERY game, its definitely a glitch

I've had this issue but only after simming games. When I play every game consecutively I can keep my starting spot but my stats and performance take a huge drop when simming to the next significant game. For some that might be contribute to the problem.

This thread is really getting out of hand. Pretending it some sophisticated system made by 2k. Has nothing to do with green bars, turnovers, grades, etc, the simple truth is the my player minutes are bugged, its not rocket science. We don't need 5 pages of theories. Next, I'm going to hear how I need to press up, up, down, left in order to keep my starting position.

              Thread should be locked.

After about how many games are you guys noticing this? I've only been starting 7 games and my minutes are increasing every game (up to 37 mpg now). I have been playing every game without simming any games. My averages since starting have been 8.4ppg, 2 rpg, 14.5 apg and 3.4 topg as a PG, hope this doesn't happen to me...

It's a "bug", glitch which also means it won't effect everyone the same way. Some might see it others won't but at the end of the day it's still a bug. I made 6th man after only 3 games and was promised a bigger role by the coach 1 game after. Not only was I bench but I dropped from Starter to role player, not even sixth man and our original starter was still on the Bench. Our 3rd string sf was now the starter.

You will also noticed the starter you replace most likely wont care. Everyone who plays association know if a player role declines, he gets upset.

gtfo the thread then, we're just talking about our experiences and were trying to figure out if its a glitch or not. You're a little too worried about a thread LMAO

The weird thing is the total opposite is happening to me.

I was drafted by the Hawks as a PF.

After about 10 games Josh Smith got injured and I took over the starting spot, after he came back I kept my starting spot (as a 69 ovr or something like that) and they moved him to SF.

Ever since I have never been benched, and they have better option then me on the team.

                          Maybe I'm just lucky

Re: Is there a problem with the MyCareer starting system?

I was having this same exact issue and it was really starting to frustrate me. My team had me on the bench with a 39 year old, 68 rated Vince Carter starting. I'm up to a 90 overall, leading the lead in PPG and assists and first in MVP voting. I kept asking for Carter to be traded and when I asked for more minutes they would start me at 28 MPG and then immediately go back to the old lineup, no matter what my performance was, in the next game.

I saw someone say that you needed to talk up your coach to the GM to get more minutes. I figured it sounded ridiculous, but it's worth a shot.

It worked. Immediately after doing that I was put in the starting lineup at 36 MPG.

It's a terrible system but there are ways around it. I'd suggest doing that to anyone having issues. It sounds stupid, but it works.

It may have randomly worked for you, but it never has for me. I've tried talking up the coach, getting multiple A+ games in a row, saying Dion Waiters is holding me back, etc etc...nothing changes it. I always end up starting 1 game, where my minutes somehow DROP to 28, then immediately after the game is over I'm back as the 6th man (and my minutes are upped to 29). It's a bug.
