Farmed up to 30,000 VC today with the hopes of landing a good PF or C. Bought 10 Guaranteed Player packs and didn't get anybody special. I figured buying 10 packs in one shot would increase your chances of getting good players. Sadly, I didn't get anyone worth mentioning. I do have a name to add to the list:

Dick Cunningham - 71 Bucks - C - Bronze

Apart from this guy, that's 10 packs wasted. Going to try again tomorrow. The process is tedious but it will eventually produce someone good for me.

That's super interesting... Head to the MyTEAM Discussion Thread on here, there's a whole couple of recent posts about how to farm for VC. Basically, while playing a MyCAREER Key Game, you just have to score a shtload of points and make sure to do all your Dynamic Goals like don't commit a turnover for the rest of the quarter and other goals like that. Basically you just have to get the highest possible good grade in the MyCAREER Key Game and then in with the last possible possession, press start and quit and Save and Exit to Game Menu. It's important to do this when you have an a) High Rated MyPlayer (Mine is 99) and b) A LOT of Spare Time. This process can get tedious really easily. If you've got nothing to do for 2 to 3 hours, this is a great way to earn VC for your MyTEAM.

Basically, during the last few seconds of the game when you basically have already earned the highest possible points and grades you can, Save and Exit the Game so you'll always be able to restart that save. When you save the game and head back to the main menu, load up the MyPlayer again, it should take you back to your most recent possession you saved the game before exiting. Finish the game. It's quicker if you saved the game during the last 5 seconds of the game but sometimes, the coach subs you out of the game in the 4th quarter so if you think you're going to be subbed out for all of the 4th quarter or most of it, save and exit the game before that happens. Anyways, when the game is over, it'll tally up the VC you earned for the game. Right before it heads to the Post Game Press Conference, it'll save your VC earnings to the 2K server. As soon as that happens and the Post Game Press Conference loads up, immediately quit the game and head back to the PSN Screen. If you're on Xbox 360, immediately quit to the Dashboard. When you head back to whatever screen you're on, start the game again and when you get back to the 2K main menu, start your MyPlayer again. If saved right, you should be able to replay the same MyCAREER Key Game that you saved and still get the VC for it. Remember to always quit to the Dashboard or PSN Screen during the Post Game Press Conference. If you're patient enough, this can earn you a shtload of VC in 1 hour's time.

The credit for this doesn't go to me, thank ghettog for the great find. How much VC you earn is up to you. It's basically a matter of a strong resolve at this point. How much do you think you could earn before beginning to spend it? The most I got in one shot is 30,0000 VC. I spent it all on packs and got nothing. =[ Maybe you'll have better luck.

thanks arvislegend that was super helpful, I saw this on the 'best way to earn VC' thread right after you mentioned it but you explained it way better. I'm a bit torn about how to spend the VC though... a player pack is worth 2 gold packs but you're guaranteed a player every time. sometimes you can go through 4-5 gold packs without finding a player, and even when you do it could be a crappy bronze legend.

however, it seems as if the rarity of the players in the season starter packs is a lot more mediocre. I mean, I've probably bought close to 60-70 gold packs and I've only received 2 gold players. anyone got a take on this?

I have earned (and bought about $40 worth) over 3,000,000 VC since ive had it and i can honestly say i cant see any consistant patterns after trying an abundance of different methods multiple times as part of my experiment. my final conclusion, it is completely random!! but certain players are deffinetly no longer obtainable.. one honorable mention is mitch richmond, only a hand full of 2k players have him..

It's best to go with the Guaranteed Player packs. I got 42,000 VC right now and I'm going to try my luck at 14 Guaranteed player packs in one straight shot. I'm bound to get somebody good in 14 back to back packs. 10 didn't seem to cut it, maybe 14 might do it. I'm aiming for Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaq or basically any big man. I know it's all random but I really would like a big man to slide to the 5 and have my D12 over at the 4. Another part of me is just telling me to keep farming until I have like a million VC. It would take a few days or so but imagine buying over 30 or so packs in one shot, you'd have to get somebody good at that point right?

Also, the days of getting somebody good in Gold Booster Packs are done I believe. Whether you farm for VC or not, I'd be upset knowing that I bought x amount of Gold Booster packs and didn't get anybody.

MOTHERFCKER! 14 back to backs and I got NOBODY worth mentioning. I got Dennis Rodman twice and right at the end, the ultimate fake out: I thought I got Hakeem Olajuwon, it turns out to be Otis Thorpe whom I already had. Damn number 33, why couldn't it have been number 34. This only goes to show you that these packs are entirely random with no pattern whatsoever as to who gets what. I'm beginning to question how I got Clyde Drexler in the first place. Damn it all.

Has anyone got Greg Smith PF, Bucks, Silver before???

He is the only legend i have seen with a starting historic value of 250 but it curiously went up to 256 today!!??

So, people buying packs on regular basis from the beginning, can you confirm some kind of turn-over of legends available? I mean, some of the ones you get in the past (especially penny), are likely to be no more in the game?

Man two players in particular for me are stockton and richmond i have them both and have never got duplicates, also nobody seems to be getting them lately in the new season packs, could this mean that only the best are available in gold packs????
But come to think of it i dont think those 2 are the best on their team, i think chris mullin is better than richmond and malone better than stockton (ill have to check to confirm)

That is so crazy. I told you, I was most excited about getting CHUCK HAYES out of the 10 player packs I bought just because I could sell him back. But i agree with you arvislegend, it's best to get player packs cause let's be honest you did get Rodman twice and Thorpe, a gold legend. Out of the crazy amount of gold packs I bought I barely got something that good so in a way it goes to show that the might be no real rhyme or reason to the players that you receive.

this was also a really good point, in a way it sort of adds to the accomplishment of obtaining a legend like Mitch Richmond. reminds me of when I used to collect basketball cards and you'd get a game jersey card.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that after buying countless Season Opener Packs; the only real good stuff is probably still reserved for the Gold Booster Packs or at least it seems like that considering the fact that all the good players I ever got were through the Gold packs. What I'm going to do now is, when I farm up to 40,000 VC again, I'm gonna go for broke on just Gold Booster Packs. Screw the Season Opener Packs, all it says is that you're guaranteed to get a player in each pack. The Gold Booster Packs still say that you have an increased chance of landing a Gold player. That's what I'm going to do. 40,000 VC, all on Gold Booster Packs. I might do it this coming weekend.

I went ahead and took your advice, farmed for 15,000 VC in about 2 hours and bought a handful of gold packs. the result was: Rod Higgins (SF, Bronze) Sam Vincent (PG, Bronze) Monty Williams (SF, Bronze) Johnny Newman (SF, Silver) Vinny Del Negro (SG, Silver) and Ricky Pierce (SF, Silver). I would say that in comparison to strictly Season Opener packs, that's a way better bundle, not to mention the amount of amazing jerseys I pulled (Lakers white, retro blue rainbow Nuggets) totally the way to go man.

Am i the only tone who got Kenny "The Jet" Smith? Got him from a goldbooster pack and never played a guy who got him, too.
