Runners? What stat determines its success?

Does anyone now which stat determines runner's success. MY player stats:

Layup 99
Shoot in traffic 95
Shot close 86
inside shot 90
shoot off dribble 95

Have yet to make one in game, and even am getting bad shot selection. The cpu on my team and on the other team routinely uses this shot and makes it consistently. I only make about 50% even in shoot around as well. Would like to use it now that I'm playing superstar and there is a lot more help defense when driving. Any Help?

I always thought it was close but could be layup maybe. Sorry not sure.

I have no idea. I'm kind of disappointed they took out the abilities part of players so you knew who was good at what. They could have definitely kept abilities along with sig skills.

I get "bad shot selection" every time too! and have never hit one, even though most are executed perfectly. I wonder if its a bug? I would think it is close rating and....?

the CPU seems to never miss them though. what else is new...

I don't think it heavily depends on shot release. Looks like it's determined mostly by positioning + stats.

For instance, Steve Nash's floater/runner is money. I'm not completely certain though.

Hmm well thanks for answering this. I have some tendency questions. If someone has a 80 3 pt rating but a very low 3 point tendency and another player has the same 80 3 pt rating but a very high 3 point tendency, will the guy with the higher tendency make a higher percentage from behind the arc if you take a certain amount (for example, like 6). Or do those tendencies only really matter for simmed games and for computer players?

Tendency doesn't affect a user controlled player's 3PT%.

so My Player characters can never shoot a runner, so kind of a bug. thats too bad, I like to use a variety of shots when driving...I will make a mental note to never shoot another runner for the rest of my career. kind of a bummer, being a PG and all..

(maybe this could be addressed in the patch, although there are many more important issues. put it at the bottom, if there is time)
