    1. Every game out there drops some kind of patch to fix bugs/glitches= improvement

    2. Every sports game has regular roster updates (transfers,signings,trades,...)

    3. Every game has updates (accessories,...).

If you guys think 2K shouldn't do any of this and just keep it AS IS, how ignorant can you be?
    1. No one would buy this game

    2. 2K would shoot itself in the foot for doing this

The gaming industry has changed massively. I I know it's more difficult compared to 10 years ago to make games and it takes a lot of time but that's normal evolution. I know companies try to work as fast as possible and good as possible but sometimes they are just lazy and think "oh well we can patch it later on, 4 months after the release". That's a horrible attitude which is being used a lot. That's the way 2K (likes to) works.

Back in the days games had to be finished on time and the developers had 1 shot, it was hit or miss. If your game had too many bugs you were screwed so they tested their game extensively. Today it seems, because of the deadline problems they are facing, is the lack of testing. A company like 2K should use their brains and let us, the audience, 2K players, test the game extensively 2 months ahead, 1 month ahead, 2 weeks before the release and then play the final game 1 week before it comes out. So that when millions of people who buy the game get a proper game without the most obvious errors.

How in the hell is it possible that 2K doesn't notice the MyCareer glitch? How is it possible that the scoreboard dissappears? How is it even possible that 2K thought the autosave would be a good thing?

I seriously can't believe that 2K actually tested this game, no way on earth. I see the most stupid things. Play 10 hours and you'll notice them.

I'm really wondering what is going on with 2K. I knew this would happen if EA didn't release an NBA game this year.

2K sports is good at hyping the **** out of this game. They spent a lot of money and time (I know, this is the marketing department who does this) on hiring Jay-Z and probably paying for Bieber and other nonsense. Next time they should use the few 100k/millions they got on hiring new educated and smart people who do their job properly. The basics -gameplay- first (I must say, I like the game this year, 2K12 was horrible we all know that), and then keep yourself busy with what the little kids would like.

EA ****ed up big time, it's a sad thing. I'm 99% positive that 2K would treat us customers in a totally different way when there would be competition with EA Sports.

2K sports is a company that doesn't know how to communicate and leaves us in the dark.
Well said. And sadly, they do this every year. They released unfinished and untested products to the public, then they patched it months later. I still enjoy playing the game very much, but these little issues just take the fun out of it.

Honestly when a roster update comes, a Thread called, "Notable Corrections for Roster Update _______" and we as a community help the 2K Insider and tell him our teams correct roster, gear, shoes whatever.
Not to mention that the Rose Garden is messed up, Babbitt's shot is off (should be set shot 14 for his base).

If the current roster is "old" and uploaded by mistake, why does it take a whole day to upload the "new" one that's correct? It's only 3:31pm out here in the Bay Area. Weird. :P

Unless they're trying to make changes and corrections-- then I have to ask, what were they doing in the last few weeks knowing today was Opening Day?

I mean, mistakes happen and balls get dropped, but this particular slip-up really indicates that rosters and post-release support isn't a high priority internally. These areas aren't adequately staffed if it's even staffed at all, and resources to work on them aren't really being tightly scheduled. If I had to guess, it's probably more of a "make sure you get Harden in the roster update after you pick up coffee for us" sort of thing.

Everybody should be sh*tting bricks that courts and uniforms are getting uploaded synced down to your console.

A few years ago that would've blown y'alls mind.

I wonder if there is some software programming/coding that goes into roster updates, or do they just manipulate it like we do and upload it to their server. If its the 2nd option, well, I don't know why they can't get it right.

Louis CK is hilarious. But this has nothing to do with that bit. This is about expected support that's been going on for years, simple human mistakes, and lack of attention to promised (and easily implemented) features. Not about entitlement or technology.

I can see how satellite internet might cut out on an airplane. I wouldn't know how to fix that. But I'm pretty sure if I had two weeks to get an NBA roster correct from the last update, I could do that if I tried. I'm also pretty sure that when a major trade happens, the first thing I would do would be to make sure all the players involved in that trade are on the correct teams and it would take 5 minutes. I probaly wouldn't need an old version of the roster where I only assigned Harden to the Rockets, and then another version where I actually assign the players OKC got back in return.

Everyone on here has every right to speak what they expect. We were promised many things from 2K and yet again they are not delivering.
I'm not trying to defend 2k but it seems like everytime 2k releases any sort of info (and this goes back to before the game is released) people are already complaining about something. And I understand the whole "nothing will be changed of nothing is said" but it still comes off as people crying about something, which in some cases isn't even thr significant.

To me it's no surprise that 2k waited until opening day to do a roster update although I admit I was expecting to be accurate as of today. But for other problems that need to be patched we have no idea how easy it is to fix these problems, how long it takes, if fixing the problems will cause more problems, etc. even with roster updates there might be certain restrictions for play or other problems that arise. I'm not defending 2k but I know that 2k can't fix every single complaint people have as fast as everyone would like them too.

Just to make sure I understand this correctly. 2K releases a roster early this morning. All of us OS users, who are 2K fans, noticed what a joke of a roster update this was and we let the community know. 2K then advises they accidentally released the wrong roster, yet, there were very recent transactions on it. Then 2K advises the correct roster will be released tomorrow morning.

2K flat out lied to all of us because if they "accidentally" released the wrong roster then realized it, they would immediatly release the correct roster.

I am very happy they are releasing a supossedly good roster tomorrow morning however, lying to us is a completely different story. I work in Law Enforcement and I absolutely cannot stand liars. Admitting a mistake was made is the correct direction, however taking another 24 hours to release the correct roster is a flat out lie. We all know you read and realized we are tired of the broken promises and hopefully things will be different from here on out but absolutely do not lie to us. Be blunt, you were lazy and already got your money so here is a roster change that even Ray Charles could accomplish.

Or they did the transactions first and then did whatever changes they were going to do second. Then they released version prior to the changes by mistake. They are taking the day to release a newer version because its right in their standard protocol to release them at that time. Considering i read post after post on this board how the 2K team doesn't listen i find it ironic that you guys think they were so worried about what you think to 1) lie 2) quickly post another version.

Could they be redoing it and saying its the wrong version because it poor? i guess so. Based on their history of craptastic roster updates and not being timely. I'll guess not. I'll take them at their word and expect a less than stellar roster update tomorrow when i can read another thread about how 2K doesn't listen.

I'm not interesting in adding to the pissing match but here are my two simple opinions.

                          1. I think 2k makes excellent video games and I am a fan of what they do.

                          2. I think that fixing rosters should be an incredibly simple thing that can't possibly be more than a couple of days work for one guy working on it full time.

                          That is all.

Trust me, been playing 2K since 2K first was 2K and all (I mean) all of their roster updates have been poor.

I only use 2K's rosters when I play online and I rarely play online due to the fact they still can't figure that out or even how to make it somewhat realistic (somewhat enjoyable).

My point was in 2K11 there were players who changed shoes, height, weight, and accessories yet 2K still hasn't fixed it.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy 2K13 but I NEVER use their rosters.

Thank you 2k. I know you will most likely get hammered again for an incomplete roster when compared to the OS community ones (deservingly so)but I will give you points for trying(Doing great with the constant court updates).

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.
