Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
All though I do appreciate that they do a couple patches a season to fix bugs/glitches, and updated courts, as far as updating rosters correctly, they are atrocious! And they need to stop lying about stuff, such as "whoops, put out wrong roster, etc." My 3 year olds can lie better than that. I often wonder if this company is run by adults or teenagers in some regards.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
My beef is, once I buy the game, why can't I play it any old way I want? If I want to put goggles on players who don't wear goggles, or create a ridiculous looking shoe and put them on ALL the players I hate, etc. It should be about more options, not less. But, with every version we have less control/options, and it's slowly turning people like me off of the game. It's like being fed filet mignon one year and cube steak the next.Last edited by Frizzz24; 11-01-2012, 01:29 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
2K bugs me. They put out a great game but can't seem to do a simple thing like get transactions right. This wouldn't have been an issue two years ago ...
2K kinda reminds me of Shaq in a way. He was just cruising along there in LA, winning titles and stuff but he could have been more dominant if he just put in the work consistently ... instead he rested on his laurels a bit and he couldn't keep that dominance going.
It's the little things 2K ... you can be more dominant that you already are but if you keep failing at these little things your dominance will end eventually.
Thank God we have such a great community of people here on OS who take the time to make the game better.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
You know...it's one thing to be missing players who haven't even seen the court, but it's another entirely to be missing Kyle Singler and PJ Tucker, both rotation guys who scored double digit points last night. I mean, it's just egregious to be missing those two in particular after the fourth roster update.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
I know it's not and has never been a feature in the game...it was a fortunate gateway that was closed by 2k because they feared these hardcore gamers would outperform their own devs and make them look bad. My gripe is why close it? If anything give gamers MORE options, not less options. It's a power/control thing by 2k. Instead of thinking of ways to give us more options, they are striving to give us less so we play the game THEIR way instead of OUR way.
My beef is, once I buy the game, why can't I play it any old way I want? If I want to put goggles on players who don't wear goggles, or create a ridiculous looking shoe and put them on ALL the players I hate, etc. It should be about more options, not less. Granted we here at OS now the difference between a 2K roster and a hex edit roster but everyone and most importantly the mass media doesn't. When those articles and photos hit the net all it says is these are items unlocked in 2K's game. That gives the impression that is available well before it is suppose to.
Don't get me wrong I have no problem with hex edit rosters and have used them for a couple of years but we can't realistically get mad at 2K for trying to limit access to things that aren't suppose to be shown or used until the NBA gives them the ok to do so. Trust me when I say 2K would much rather piss of the guys here and other places that use hex edits than to piss off the NBA and put their contracts and relationships in jeopardy. That would/could cost them far more money than losing the very small percentage of possible customers who wouldn't buy the game if hex edits where completely blocked out.Comment

If they did block it out it is not a power/control thing nor is it a fear of being out done thing. It has everything to do with them and their relationship/contracts with the NBA. This year the hex edit rosters have gotten far more attention than ever before. There was major sites showing things in the game that was not suppose to be seen yet. One article even had the title things 2K and the NBA doesn't want you to see. That puts a strain on things with the NBA and could actually hurt us the customers in the long run.

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
is this the 3rd update?
1st: 2K uploads "an old" roster
2nd: 2K admits uploading a wrong roster adds the new one
3rd: roster update, this one?Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update (11-1-12)
Seriously? This is the 4th roster update they've done and it's still not right right by a long shot. When other people like J2k9 can get the rosters 99% correct on ALL levels, then there is no reason why professionals at 2k can't. It's part of their job...someone's job any way. Someone is getting paid to do this (developers or what have you). It boils down to either just pure laziness or lack of attention to detail or both...which is not a good recipe when you're attempting to make a sim game.
Don't cut 2k a break on this, because the less we expect the less they will deliver. They've already cut out the following things on this game that worked in previous versions.
1. Ability to hex edit.
2. Ability to turn off Auto-save.
3. Ability to create home and away accessories/shoes, now we can only create one or the other and they limited the colors in some instances.
4. Ability to slider share
There are other things I can think of but I think you get the idea. They more we allow them to slack the more they will...particularly with no outside competition.Comment
