There should be Luol Deng, Gerald Wallace and Batum in the top 10.
Why counting the Kobe-Killer but not the Lebron James-Stopper of the league?

Guys there are only 12 rankings, there are better defenders than gerald wallace, etc. But i will look over list again and I will add Shump for sure. And remember i count all Defensive categories together, except Defensive rebounding. If a person has 70 On ball D, 70 D aware, 70 steal, 70 block, then he'll be ranked higher than 80 on ball D 80 D aware, 60 steal 40 block

Like I said earlier, you put great time and effort into this post. I ragged a little bit and so did others, but criticism can be the greatest compliment. This would not still be on the 1st page if we didn't like your setup. Looking forward to your revised rankings my man!

Re: NBA 2K13 - Best Defensive Stoppers

First of all i want to make this clear...im talking about real life (not always reflected in 2k13)

Iggy is a MUST on this list as well as Lebron. Theres more guys who should be on here. Theres a lot of overrated dudes here. CP3, Rondo, Battier. Not a good list dude imo...

Kobe should be out - hes living on reputation at this point in his career. He saves his energy for offense and rarely guards challenging players - instead he likes to roam and play the passing lanes. Hes a middling defender - in the 43rd - 56 percentile amoung SGs.

Im split on Affalo (being a denver fan) ive seen him play some really nice hard nose D that earned him a rep as a go to D guy but after he got paid, he really slipped defensively. Last yr he ranked 218th in points per play allowed when isolated on defense. He was 344th against spot up shooters - against whom he allowed 43% three point shooting (up 13% over 2010/11). Draw your own conclusions. He has the skill to be a stopper but hes got to get back to that mindset.

Westbrook was a stopper at UCLA but hes a liability atm as he loses focus and roams too much

good thread though. It's just You've missed a lot of key stopers though...but i know you're going from 2k ratings ;]

I look at overall Defense more than JUST ON-BALL D and STEALS. So everyone can have different opinions, though, i will change this list again, anytime soon.

Yea I'll see. So in the next edit, should I go by On BALL D and D Awareness and Steals only?

Battier should be number 1 IMO. He has 89 low post D. That is crazy for a SF/PF
                            Lineup:
                            PG) Gary Payton
                            SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
                            SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
                            PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
                            C) Hakeem Olajuwon

No wonder he was a PF in the 2012 finals guarding Ibaka

Alright I updated the list, and it's way better now. Some people didn't make it, because other people have higher ratings than them. Remember, these rankings are determined by ratings of Defensive Awareness and On Ball D.
