Poll: Reach in fouls rate

Hey guys, with the recent patch, they "improved reach-in foul detection when defender continually swipes at the ball, results in more called fouls where appropriate."

We'd like to hear your feedback on this specific issue. Feel free to weigh in with your opinions if they occur too often, or if you like the increase to prevent steal-spamming.

If they are gonna take away the reach in fouls then they need to take away the live ball. You cant have the best of both worlds.

To give someone three or four swipes to steal the ball everytime down the court with no penalty for it is ridiculous. Not to mention the ridiculous animations you have the offensive player go into once he has the ball swiped away (like they've just been shot or something) and they cant move or do anything to retrieve the ball.

Its mind boggling to me that the complaints about something so realistic has already reached the devs and its a poll about it. But no poll regarding the ridiculous 3's being made nor a poll about the game being on pro level is beyond me.

Keep it just the way it is now.

Lower them back so these spammers can strip me before i can even take one dribble after inbounding the ball?

Well I play on PC, so i can't answer, cause we don't have a patch YET. By The way... any word, any thoughts on a pc patch on the next weeks ?

But i'm in favor in letting the reach in foul calls as it is post patch... maybe tone down a bit, some people stated that a lot of times one try to steal and u get called.. i think u must punish the ones that tries too often. Thanks.

Please say a word about a pc patch.. don't let us waiting until March 2013.

The thing that bothers me the most is that I have been complaining about the non reach in calls in online play for better part of 4-5 years (Along with others)..Now that they changed it the "Steal Spamming hacks" complain and 3 days later there is a poll about changing this back? It just seems like 2k only cares about the "nba jam style, non real life bball playing couch potato kids" are who they seem to cater to. Am I wrong with this statement? I hope not. Please don't change.

Keep it, for the offline fellas, just lower the foul slider.

Been playing online with it at 88 (Reach fouls) and its perfect. You can rip it when the timing is right, you can't blindly press x, love it. Oh I also have the steal success slightly higher so you have that reward/risk/foul, instead of just risk/foul.

Reaching needed to be addressed but this is ridiculous, I have 99 steal and literally every time I reach on HOF its a foul. You def shouldn't be able to spam the steal button but the fact that I have a 99 rating and get a foul called every time I press it once is dumb. Offensive rebounding seems exactly the same on HOF as well. Can we just get realistic scores instead of games that are up in the 140's-150's? Great game but these little issues continue to plague it

Way too much.
I used pickpocket, tony Parker does some fancy dribble moves and I press steal, ONCE, and it's a reach in call.

I used active hands, ginobily comes in for a layup, I press steal to strip the ball. Instant reach in call.

Double teaming, get to the position to tap the ball away. Reach in foul.

Same as fast breaking, come from behind to steal, the easiest steal possible, reach in foul.

Fouls too easy
Some sig skills basically useless.

Offensive rebounding, was it even touched? My first couple of games seemed fine, last 3 games were terrible.
9 offensive rebounds in 1 possession the spurs got against me.
My teams AI is too low, they still don't box out or get pushed out on the
rebound by a scrawny guard.

Hopefully was just them few games.

Instead of increasing the reach in fouls or allowing for lots of on ball steals just make the ball handler simply protect the ball..

I absolutely hate when a guard stands at the top of the key dribbling with his right hand completely unprotected and I can press steal 10 times with my guy reaching nowhere even close to the hand the ball is in..

After about 10 steal attempts a foul is called.. I'm sorry but if a player is too stupid to keep the ball always from the defender it should be stolen.. Just fix it to where players protect the ball and create separation and you won't have the stupid reach in foul being called too often or not often enough..

Yea you're right nobody ever reaches in the NBA.......guess you'[ve never watched guys like Gary Payton play D, just because not everyone does it doesn't mean nobody does. You've never seen an on ball steal before?
I said it needed to be addressed but not every time you press the button

Add new animations next year to do a auto protect then I woudnt have a problem with that.
