For example, I follow the standard 29+ minutes for starters, with stars typically being 35+. The bench always seems to be the most difficult with playing time, and so far the only thing I do to help out their minutes of play is to rest every player that gets an injury, even day-to-day, just to make things more realistic. I was also thinking of trying to make it more realistic by having players DNP some games instead of hurting their stats with 4 minutes off the bench.

Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
I was wondering what other people do when it comes to distributing minutes for players throughout each season while also keeping everyone happy.

Re: Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
I go 9-10 deep depending. My worst G and C/PF usually gets the DNP-CD. I wish the cpu did this instead of going 12 deep in the 1st qtr, totally wrecks the game flow, along with the cpu mass subs.
As for Minutes, Rose gets 35+, i usually preserve him for the 4th qtr. Deng also gets 35+, Noah would be in that mid 30 range as well, but the big men in this game have the stamina of obese, middle aged women. Other starters are around 25 mpg. Hinrich & Gibson usually are around 13-18 mpg. Belinelli/Robinson/Butler all range from 7-20 mpg deoending on the games ebb & flow.Last edited by Bull_Market; 12-11-2012, 10:47 PM.#HellaBandz

Re: Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
Really depends on the roster. Most bench guys will be happy with role player and 12+ mins, but you can run into problems. I've taken to subbing manually though because the auto subs are usually pretty bad.Keep Fighting the Good FightComment

Re: Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
I try to go 8-9 man rotation going. Maximum I go is 10. I usually go with this method based on ratings:
Stars: 37-38 minutes
Starters: 31-34 minutes
6th man: 26-28 minutes
Role players: 14-18 minutes
Prospects: 10-12 minutes
The rest of the players get 0. Hopefully this helps!Comment

Re: Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
mine depends on the roster as well.
regualr mid level starters are usually around 32 unless i have no backup.
Stars are between 34-44.
i have a sixth man as my backup PF and C getting 32 minutes because i have a 3 man big man rotation and they all get equal minutes.Comment

Re: Rotation Strategies For Association Mode?
How often do you guys play the 11th and 12th spots on the bench? Anytime I set them to 0 minutes they become upset after a few games. I wonder why 2K hasn't made the rotation system more realistic for thr CPU. You don't normally see a bench reserve log 4 minutes every night. It should be more in depth to where they log real minutes every 3 games or so until an injury occursComment
