I don't agree with this. A few games doesn't make someone deserve a "signature" skill. Show me some 4th quarter stats after the season's over.

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
I don't think he deserves it yet. Some of the sig skills I think can be thrown around a lot easier and I'd be fine with, but closer is not one of them. I feel this is something that you earn over seasons of dominating the 4th.Last edited by bm011; 12-17-2012, 12:14 PM.Comment

hayward deserves that chasedown sig but blocking is bad in game so don't think it would matterComment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
Lillard with yet another 4th quarter performance (including a clutch step back J).
No one expected anything out of Portland yet they sit on a 5 game winning streak at 13-12. Lillard had 18 second half points! J.J Hickson turned in his 7th straight double-double.
Portland is actually relevant because of Lillard's tremendous play in crunch time (especially in overtime where they're 4-0), and because of J.J Hickson stepping up. The man is a closer, you may not accept it but all of us whom actually watch the games know!Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
Lilliard is good but he does not need a closer sig skill yet. That sig skill is way too powerful man. You get a ratings boost up to 12 attributes points and increased window of FT's.Comment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
He doesn't deserve the sig just yet cause i wanna see if he smashes his head on the rookie wall but I do think its interesting that a rookie is his teams closer IRL especially when they have an all star caliber player (Aldridge)Comment

And I gotta say your opinion isn't really an objective one since you're a diehard Blazers/Lillard fan.Deandre Jordan (DR)

Can you stop assuming that we don't watch the games? I follow the NBA religiously and I don't think he deserves it just yet. Plus there are players on other teams, not just Portland, that are deserving the attention you want just for Lillard and your Blazers.

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
He IS our closer though, and his ability to score is maximized/taken to another level in the 4th quarter IRL. Thus he should have closer on the game. Don't want to give it to him early? Why not? Giving it to him now would simulate his current play. If he shows otherwise then simply remove it?Comment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
Blazers fans are annoying...Hickson is a decent player that is fine where he's at, Lillard is a rookie who is playing well but he's no God, and when you have zero bench production your starters stats will be inflated...sheesh.Comment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
Closer's: Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Dwayne Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Carmelo Anthony, Paul Pierce if you want to throw in guys like LeBron, Rose, CP3 etc, fine.
If you can honestly tell me Damian Lillard is on that level, a quarter way into his first season in the NBA, you're not thinking straight. My list of guys and hopefully many other people's lists of guys who you can call "The Closer," consists of 6 guys in the entire league. I honestly wouldn't blink twice if he hit 5 game winners in his first few games or scored 25 points in the final 5 minutes of a game to win it. He hasn't played a playoff game, no game he has played you can call a "big" game (ie. Any playoff game, game to make the playoffs). I don't want this to come off as attacking you even though I think this statement is ridiculous but common, to have a closer skill you have to have done something bigger than lead your team to a .500 record in your first year.Last edited by Phoenixsuns32; 12-23-2012, 11:59 PM.Comment
