No. I think half the users in this thread need to get their eyes checked. No where did I ever say its solely because of "game winners".... the reason I'm campaigning for him to get it by seasons end is because of the elevation of his play throughout the course of the fourth quarter. . . not a "couple of game winners" -_-Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment

Will do, all I was trying to do is to inform people of what he's doing. In making this thread I never thought that it'd be instantly reflected, nor do I think it should be. I just wanted everyone to know that didn't.Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
If Kyrie Irving could get it after his rookie season on a even worst team, then I think Damian Lillard has a shot at getting it.Comment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
I will not be suprised if Lillard gets the closer skill if he keeps it up at this rate for the entire year. But ~30 games into the season there is a very small sample size of "closer" or clutch stats. He has raised his performance though so I can't completely knock him. In the clutch he has taken around 30 shots from the field. I think that is pretty low to give someone a clutch sig skill because this sig skill in my opinon is the most overdone of all the sig skills.Comment

Kyries numbers per 48 in "clutch" time according to 82 games:
18.1 FGM
33.4 FGA
.544 FG%
.579 EFG%
19% AST'd
7% Blk'd
15.2 FTM
53.8 Pts
As slimm has stated, these are lillards:
All stats per 48 Min
10.3 FGM
22.1 FGA
.464 FG%
.571 EFG%
46% AST'd
0% Blk'd
7.1 FTM
32.4 Pts
Not even close to kyries rookie year. Unfortunately he's been awful this year at the end of games, but that's more die to teams doubling, trapping and collapsing on him knowing the cavs are the worst shooting team in the league. They're forcing the others to beat them
The number that sticks out to me is the difference in % AST'd. Lillard has some talent around him helping him get the shots he makes where as kyrie pretty much had nobody.
He is up there statistically with all the other players who have the closer skill which I do believe he will receive it if he keeps this up. I just wanted to state how you cannot just say, "if kyrie got it after his rookie year, lillard should too!"

Lillard with yet another clutch 3 off of top of the key iso again tonight against Knicks to bury them. The Knicks had a ton of momentum, and he commanded the ball and went for the jugular as he proceeded to silence the entire crowd!Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment

The more I think about it, the more I think they need to just remove this signature skill nonsense altogether. This is a basketball sim, not an RPG. What's so wrong with the clutch rating? These binary, "you have it or you don't", special abilities are far from replicating reality.Comment

Sig skills differentiate players that much more which is very welcome. One thing I'd request is more animations in relation to specific numbers.
I.e 90 block allows you to pull of this animation 93 block allows you to pull off the same block much more efficiently, 94 block unlocks an entirely different block animation, 95 slightly better version of 94, 96 etc.
This would separate players like never before. Look at EA's football titles, for the most part they completely lack ratings/animation correlation. For example what does 98 man coverage look like?Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of FameComment

Re: "The Closer" Damian Lillard
I am so much in favor of just dumping closer and getting the clutch rating back, because there are several role players that have a pretty good clutch rating, but they just don't take over games because they're not the go to guy on the team.
Another thing, clutch is really a skewed topic; I don't believe in clutch to the extent that it is talked about today, its just that these "closers" take all of those shots at that time in the game, and they're good players, so they hit them. I think one highly paid player in particular should be going through everyone's head at this moment.
And if we are going to have clutch, speaking of closers, I know Billups was injured a bunch lately, but his name isn't Mr. Big Shot for nothing, I mean, this guy's been doing it for years, he just happens to be the second best point guard on his team so he gets a much lesser role, another reason to just take out closer and put in clutch again."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."
