Re: Shot Button vs. Shot Stick

Shot stick 90% of the time for me. I'll use the shot button for jumpshots sometimes (catch and shoot or to queue up a shot if I'm swinging the ball around) or if I'm trying to get a quick shot up in the paint without thinking about where I want to go up. I let the game decide the best shot for that situation in favor of the time I'm saving.

I use shot button for everything except layups, dunks, & runners.

I find that it's easier for me to choose my layup hand and change my shot when I'm using the stick.

2 years ago? So the shot stick will finally evolve? What about the dribble stick...you've mentioned that this is year one and the next year it will make more sense?

I'm really curious how this will all turn out as I'm comfortable with the controls now. Sounds like the shot button will play a bigger part with the shot stick combined....

Will this be an extension of the new controls or are you going in a new direction?

This would be the best explanation on how I use the two simply because I play mostly online and the delay causes the shot stick response to feel delayed also.

Shot Stick for everything except free throws (Timing is easier with the button). LOL

Re: Shot Button vs. Shot Stick

I switched to the shot button this year and it has worked well. I kind of miss being able to pull off a runner/floater, that was much easier with the shot stick. Also, I feel like I am missing most of my post-up shots with the shot button, so I'm thinking about trying the shot stick in the post. I'd rather just stick with the button though.

Agreed on the post shots with the shot button; they seem to clang off the rim at a higher frequency than the shot stick.

I don't mind using the shot button, but sometimes on a catch-and-shoot, it seems like you have to hold the button down a really long time before the player actually begins to take said shot.

It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I use button for set jumpers, and use the shot stick for all other shots, as well as post up shots and layups, dunks, ect...

Has Anyone tried Switching the Shot Stock back to default and making LT for isomotion modifier? I think im gonna try it because I can get the feel right holding LT whenever I wanna shoot. Had to hold LT to dribble before anyway so it shouldn't be too different from previous 2ks lol just wanted to hear if anyone thinks its more comfortable

For a straight jumper, I use the button. For nearly anything else I use the stick.

As someone who's used the shot stick since its inception, this year I have reverted solely back to the shot button. No qualms either. In my opinion, you guys have done a notable job with contextual animations even sans the versatility of the shot stick.

I'm trying to get myself away from pressing the buttons and use the sticks for everything, but trying reprogram myself has been harder than I thought. I find myself using the buttons on occasion in the heat of battle.
