HOF SIM 12 min will get you a sim game. Take Optiks word for it. We have had some games in the 70's and some in the 100's. Sliders help. But the reg. HOF SIM 12 min can get you a realistic game.

Mars, then what you should say or what it sounds like your trying to say is "most of the randoms I play online do not play simulation basketball." I think everyone could agree w/ that. But that is off topic and not what the OP was trying to convey.

This statement has been said repeatedly since the release of NBA 2k13 in October. If the myteam and quick matches are frustrating to you, and you are continuesly getting matched up against people who you believe do not play nba2k like you think it should be played, then stay away from them. Your hoping that the majority of the people who play those modes will not fastbreak everytime down the floor, will not choose the Lakers, Heat or Thunder, will not shoot 45 stepback threes in a game. That is just not the case. The majority of the people who play those modes all want to win at any cost. They have found something that works the majority of the time, and will keep on doing it, because you can't stop it. They may or may not know the correct way to play nba2k or basketball in general. But to them, playing like that is fun because they can win. What makes nba2k great is there are ways to stop it. Some people find beating people who play that way fun. Others just complain, continue to get beat playing those modes and do nothing about it. And since the release date, the majority who play somekind of simulation 2k basketball, stay away from those modes for the most part.

If you haven't already, check out the whole section of OS dedicated to people like yourself, who can't stand random quick matches, and are looking somewhat for a good competive simulation matchup. Start adding some of these people to your friends list, and stay away from quick matches.

Good point . Checking that out now. It's not that I can't win against cheesers I have , but it sometimes forces me to exploit the game back to win. I don't like that.

if you have ever played an online quick match, you will see that people make a ridiculously high percentage of their shots. you got baby jesus AKA andre iguodala draining jumpers in people's faces all game and dunking on 2 people at once. he is the perfect example of why the game is not sim in online quick matches. the difficulty is set so low that people get rewarded for doing cheesy things.

play offline with the right settings or play online with friends with adjusted difficulty, and the game is very sim.

Look im from Australia ,Basketball was not something i grew up on.I started playing 2k4 & my obsession for the sim aspect grew & grew,
.I still lack all the terminology but im learning & i have improved thanks to a few threads and bit and pieces here!.

Taught me spacing,movement,defnsive strategy

-Vanwolfhawks playbooks!
Taught me basic plays,screens gave me a realistic approach to the virtual game and an attack

-Jasonwilliams Understanding momentum
This is a must read!...i dont know why 2k just doen't let us in on some of this knowledge themselves???...

People like me benefit immensly from tips in these threads & i much rather read a thread like this than: Soooo,Like wtf is with.....??

I don't play online,i accept the fact im not good enough amd respect the game to much to iso my way to the hoop all the time.

Decided to download Bedwardsroy19 roster and wow... Playing offline I'm enjoying the game lol. Stars are aggressive when they need to and yet role players actually play a role. Put it on allstar difficulty I'm pretty set!
