Motion capture blocked dunks for every new dunk you addEA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure. -

Re: Motion Capture Next Week - What Dunks Do You Want in NBA 2K14?
I think they need to separate fast break dunks from normal lane crowded dunks which don't happen at a high rate in 2K13.
1. It would be good to have "highlight" dunk trigger button combo but as long as it had a bad outcome if you attempt it at the wrong time.
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="420" height="315">
<embed height="315" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NYz-_AsTASY?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></object>
2. We could use a "throw in" dunk like this would be funny to see some one miss a few
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="560" height="315">
<embed height="315" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3izkFFfkNZc?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></object>
3. There is nothing like this but this combines dribbling behind the back and a 360. So I would say it would be good to put a few dunks that involve going behind the back. Or holding the ball like a RB in football to protect the ball say driving in the lane then explode for one hand.
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="420" height="315">
<embed height="315" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HbI0ZJ6RXt8?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></object></td> </tr></tbody></table> </p>4. This combines a few things we need to see every now and then a "small guard" with good leaping ability will sneak in and get a tip dunk . We also need the hanging on the rim with a purpose because the momentum carried them on the defense back or they thought they would land on someone on the floor. Every contact dunk does not need to have a foul.
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="420" height="315">

</td> </tr></tbody></table>5. The ability to hurdle or almost hurdle some of the smaller guards if they are in the way.</p>
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="420" height="315">

"Statue of liberty" glide type dunks one hand with and without contact
<table style="width: 48pt; border-collapse: collapse;" border="0" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="64"> <colgroup><col style="width: 48pt;" width="64"> <tbody><tr style="height: 15pt;" height="20"> <td style="border: 0px black; width: 48pt; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;" height="20" width="64"><object width="560" height="315">

Hahaha. I did realize that as I was typing but I figured it was better comedy than if I had actually tried to be funny.Comment

Re: Motion Capture Next Week - What Dunks Do You Want in NBA 2K14?
It would be nice to include a Legend Toronto Raptors team with a young Vince Carter and T-Mac in 2K14. Vince Carter was fun to watch in his rookie year. You could include all the best Vince Carter Windmill Dunks he did including the one he did in the Olympics over that 7 foot tall dude, you know, just for fun. It's time we started including more of the NBA Legends of the 2000s instead of just a paltry 2 teams.
I say it's high time to include the 2004 Pistons, the 2000 Raptors, the 2007 Warriors and any of the two Jason Kidd-led Nets teams in 2K14.MyTeam Lineup: New York Bullet Club
PG: Reward Amethyst Steve Francis
SG: Jamal Crawford (Hawks)
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Carmelo Anthony
C: DeMarcus Cousins
6th: Stephen Curry
Coach: Doc Rivers
Playbook: Phoenix SunsComment

Re: Motion Capture Next Week - What Dunks Do You Want in NBA 2K14?
Layup Packages.....where do i start? They dont work. IS there anyway you can recapture these moves so that they can be done at will? The jamal crawford shimmy shake, or rondo ball fakes never come out for me. Can you just make it so that you can do these layups by pressing one button or at least make them automatic moves that happen when you drive to the rim with someone in front of you. This would make more sense since they havent been able to come out on a frequent basis like they did in nba 2k11.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7l053a5oYxc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
360 Layups
BRING THESE BACK!!! Make them easy to do like twirling your right stick in a 360 motion, or double tapping B without turbo.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/z8W4M1QvYDo" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lHVmry90LZ8" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
And tone down the up and under success rate. this is the most abused move by bums on 2k12 and now 2k13.They pump fake, up and under you to death online.
Last but not least, can you bring back ISO GATHERS,iso size ups, iso stepbacks and off hand dribbling back from 2k11? This is what separated the good ball handlers from the average. These moves were cool as hell to pull off and have been sorely missed...I figure since you guys got rid of iso motion, somehow these moves could be implemented by tapping the right stick twice in a certain direction, or moving them over to face buttons....Whatever the case, figure it out and bring these moves back..thanks for your time.

Re: Motion Capture Next Week - What Dunks Do You Want in NBA 2K14?
I'm glad that 2K is working on blocked dunks but I would like to see them really flesh out all the types of contact dunks and attempted dunks:
Blocked dunks
Classic 2K12 dunk-ons
Missed dunks due to contact
Dunk-overs
2K's dunk-ons looked decent but were removed because people didn't like being caught in animations as the defender. Unfortunately, the solution was simply to have the dunked-on player slide out of the way without any appropriate animation. I think it's better to be caught in a good looking animation you can't control than an bad/non-existent animation you can't control since the latter doesn't improve gameplay in any way.
I would like to see 2K extend the contact animation engine to handle dunks, and for 2-man dunk-on animations come back, as long as they are triggered realistically depending on the matchup and situation and doesn't become a cheese move. The dunk engine should also allow dunk attempts to branch into blocked dunks, missed dunks, and contact layup finishes.
Furthermore, I'd like to see 2K implement dunk-over animations. I don't think they've ever been implemented in 2K. I mean the dunks where the dunker really gets up and reaches *over* their defender and acknowledges they're there rather than just dunking into them (think Harrison Barnes and Blake Griffin). 2K should also capture some stare-down animations while they're at it:
<object data="http://www.youtube.com/v/UP3qfPaPrh8" width="560" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="315"></object>
This *is* the #2 dunk on the dunk-ladder this year, really deserves number 1.
From a broadcast cam (you can see how much he reaches over):

Another great example of a power one-hander where the the hand grabs the rim and releases without a giant hang:
