Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
Im down with more classic teams, anyway are you serious I know your probably an older guy, but that's an insult to today's NBA. LeBron James is as good a player this leagues ever seen, same goes for Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant is slowly becoming an All-Time great. Chris Paul is already arguably a top 10-15 PG in NBA history. The 90s weren't even all that great, particularly the late 90s, the league was watered down and many star players were past their prime. It may be getting old for yourself, but for me and others that are like minded, this is the only reason we switch on NBA2k, to relive the golden era of basketball, some of the greatest rivalries and players that ever stepped on the hardwood - there's not a single team or player in today's generation that encourages me to play with current rosters, the NBA just doesn't have that fire in its belly from the 70's/80's and 90's.
I really hope 2k take note and continue with the legends, for me, if they drop MJ and the legends, i'm done.
Anyway I was dissapointment with what 2K added in terms of legends in 2K13. What happened to the grainy presentation for the games, the black and white for the 60s? Why the hell is their a three point line in the early 70s/60s courts? Why would you include the Kings without Chris Webber? The Sixers without Dr.J and Andrew Toney? The Lakers without Kareem? The Bulls without Orlando Woolridge? There are too many teams without matchups from the same year. I would like to see these teams added.
99 New York Knicks
99 Miami Heat
01 Toronto Raptors
00 Indiana Pacers
00 Los Angeles Lakers
Any team with Charles BarkleyComment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
I would love to get this, but sadly I think my PC would catch fire If i tried to run it. It's a good few years old now and sounds like an old man bending over to pick up his walking stick.
Plus I think the transition from 2k12 to 13, back to 12 again would be a little akward!
maybe not. what are your specs here are mine. not a gaming pc at all.
i bought it in the summer of 05
compaq
windows xp
amd athlon 64 processor 3500+
2.20 ghz, 512 mb of ram
added a nvidia geforce 8400 gs 512mb ram in 07 it was already old and cheap then.
point is i run 2k 12 and 13 just fine although not maxed out. had to lower a few settingss to max out the speed. have 4 mods running in 13 with no speed loss at all.
ncaa2k13
fiba2k13
national teams mod
community ballahz.
ubr works great on 2k12. there are so many teams you wont mind going back to 12. right now im playing with barkleys suns in the 92-93 season. accurate courts dornas jerseys. youll never wanna play on the console again. u can even use your ps3 controller (with the proper drivers u need to download) or a 360 wired controller. dont say oh yeah but my couch is comfortable. hook your pc up to your tv and perhaps get an extended wire or move your couch up. i can provide pictures to entice u if anyone knows the command on pc.
try the game on your pc man i guarantee you can play it. i didnt think i had a chance in hell but it optimized well. im not asking you to try far cry 3 but this will run no doubt.Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
Are you really saying that? The 90s that I witnessed I saw one particular player go to 6 Finals, win 6 rings and be voted Finals MVP 6 times.Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
well i ask what improvements can they make on the current players. add more tattoos. i think the guy meant we are all in here talking about why we like the old teams and its our only incentive to play. these guys like myself probably dont even play online and just use classic associations. two completely different views.
seriously what can they improve. people say this all the time but never once have i been given an actual example of where 2k should better spend their time in regards to the legends. im not being rude but you are breaking the feel good theme and vibe in here. If you are gonna respond make sure its with what 2k can do to improve the game rather then spend time on legends, the legends that will keep us from buying the game. tell me, what improvements can they make to keep u happy and keep us from buying the game.Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
Great suggestions! Would be fun to play as the Big O!Ummm. Lets add some pre 1980s Teams... The NBA wasn't all about the post NBA-ABA Merger era
53 Lakers (Mikan's MVP season)
53 Celtics (Cousy)
53 Nats (Dolph Schayes)
58 Hawks (Bob Petit, only Team NOT the Celtics to win a champion in between the steak)
62 Warriors (Wilts 100 Point Game)
64 Royals (Oscar Robinson's Triple Double MVP Year)
76 Suns (3 OT NBA Final)
76 Celtics (3 OT NBA Final)
77 Blazers (Walton, Lucas, 1st Champion after merger)
I like this "Classic Games" Idea on iOS, so adding these teams help with Greatest Games throughout the existence of the NBA.
8 Pre-80s Teams in 2K13 (18 with my suggestions)
27 Post-80s in NBA 2K13Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
What can they do? Well for one, they can get the ratings right. Why is it that Gerald Green was rated like a high 70's throughout the season until recently? He's been a below-average player this year. Secondly, they can fix their potential system. I'm fine with keeping legends in the game, I love using them against my friend online. But there's plenty of classic teams to choose from now. I would just rather have 2k spend their time and resources with fixing the current rosters. It wouldn't hurt to add 2-4 teams a year, but anything more is honestly just a waste of time for me.well i ask what improvements can they make on the current players. add more tattoos. i think the guy meant we are all in here talking about why we like the old teams and its our only incentive to play. these guys like myself probably dont even play online and just use classic associations. two completely different views.

but it is old from a marketing stand point...of course there is some guys like you that love it....but there is allot ppl that are gonna be like "legends again? why dont they focus on something else?"
and i said it does cost allot of money to get those guys in the game...they half assed it this year...teams are missing key players which makes the team useless to even have in the game
thats why i think they do away with it....but maybe im wrongLast edited by Po0hd1n1; 01-27-2013, 10:12 AM.Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
I've thought about this a lot over the years and I still don't think I've come to a great conclusion. To me, things like Jay-Z, MLB 2K's million dollar challenge, and The Crib are marketing ploys. Even MyPlayer, MyCareer, and Virtual Currency hit me as "Features". In contrast, and this is where I know it gets a little shaky, I do not consider the inclusion of real NBA basketball teams, past or present, to be ploys, gimmicks, or short term features. I feel like that's just NBA being in an NBA game, as it should be.i actually dont mind it

Of course, I know it takes work to include classic teams and I recognize that it's NBA 2K13, not "NBA 2K82" as so many people tend to argue, so I understand that current teams are the primary draw, I just do not think classics should be treated like a random video game idea. They are a giant piece of real NBA basketball, and they always will be, so I do not believe in moving away from classics as if they're out of style. The Charlotte Bobcats are out of style, yet here we are.Comment

Re: More classics for 2k14!!!
What would be a better thing to spend money on for 2k14 in your opinion?
Does Jay-Z branding contribute anything besides increasing sales by getting children to associate 2k games with a globally marketed lifestyle icon?
They redesign the menus with a lot of glitter, play stupid rap videos before games and give us about 50 pregame-antics resembling a WWE-entrance.
Yet we don't even know if they continue any patch support for a full price product.
I get your point and it's alright if some people don't need classic teams. But on the other hand would you rather have 2k spending money on pointless gimmicks instead?
And even if they won't get name rights for every player, including accurate courts and jerseys would really be enough since there's an active community taking care of rosters. Or simply improve create-a-team mode to make it easier to expand the game.Comment
