Even with the change in difficulty, the passing system itself is flawed; both online and offline play can be improved by a better designed system in its entirety.

Let us all hope that 2k will give us an upgrade sooner then later.

I know that. I play virtually all my games online.

The truth is, passing is incredibly, mind-bogglingly easy in this game. I would estimate that about 90-95 percent of users are just not very good at recognizing what makes a good pass when the game is at full speed. I include myself in this group.

I played a game recently, against an opponent I consider better than average, on 12 min quarters and HOF Sim difficulty, and at least half of his total passes should've been tipped or picked off. He literally should've had about 40 turnovers. But most got through to their target as intended.

The game mechanics and the player ratings save you from bad passes more than not, and stealing or tipping a pass is actually much more difficult than it would be if the game were more "realistic."

Offense already dominates the game -- the guys here who want "better" passing would probably change their minds once they saw people online shooting 85 percent with the Heat on dunk after dunk.

Passing could be improved, like any particular aspect of the game could be improved. But to state that it's horrible or that the ratings don't differentiate players (they clearly DO) is just not the truth.

... Ya a lot of passes are easy. Through traffic etc... Long passes especially in teamup.

But at the same time perimeter passing is too slow IMO

Re: Passing is horrible in this game.

This thread makes me so happy; you don't even understand.

Passing is complete garbage. My Pass-First MyPlayer with Dimer (Level 3) and 99 passing still gets picked off constantly. I'm aiming and hitting X (PS3) and he'll ignore the open man down low, but instead randomly throw a pass somewhere; most of the time it's picked off and stolen.

It's ridiculous. Why can't I aim with "X" (PS3 Pass button) and send it where I want, instead of Having to go with R2 and specifically hit a player with the button combo? That's too much to do in crunch time when you have to make a fast pass. NHL series on EA Sports doesn't make you do that; why did 2K think it was a great idea??

It's so extremely frustrating! I lose SO MUCH TEAM PLAY because of turnovers over this. It has literally screwed me full letter grades (and playing time).

I understand if you're "aiming", there's a circle under the player you're going to pass to if you hit the typical pass button, but that again randomly changes at times. It's ridiculous.

Too many overhead passes; causes a lot turnovers as opponents have time to intercept because it's slow and it's used too much (Happens a lot in pick and rolls). Also I some how managed to do an overhead pass while on a 3 on 1 fast break, and yes you guessed it......turnover. Great job 2K.

the cpu has no problems...they make crazy passes all game...lol they throw full court passes that are way over head and the cpu teammate will go up like Calvin Johnson

yet i try to do a simple 5 foot pass and my teammate will watch the pass go out of bound
