If that's the case it shouldn't be labeled a perfect release.
but thats the thing.. jumpshots arent labelled as 'perfect'
        youre given a grade.. A+ to F ..
so lets compare shot grading to school grading.. in school anything above a 90 is 'A+'.. so not 'perfect' in the sense of the word, but excellent nonetheless

i think where people get confused is, for freethrows (in previous versions) an A+ ALWAYS goes in, and now they are simply labelled as being 'perfect'

the way jumper rating is translated to success is percentage based... so an A+ has a higher 'chance' of going in... this is evident when you end up taking a C shot and hit it anyway... but a C will always go in at a lesser frequency than an A

and regarding you other post: yo pretty much answered your own question an A outside rating is not an A+ .. so even with an A+ release it will not always go in .. so if u were to take that same A+ shots with a B outside shooter it would go in even less

Where is that long *** thread we had about this same subject last year (or the year before)?

I think it's a great option. I've used both with great results. But I also sometimes get tired of each after a while. Because certain people play this game waaaay too. And study releases. Those same people start hitting jumper with Shaq from the outside (just an example). It's scary and down right annoying. But the other side of the coin is not having control. Or the "skills".

I lean towards Real. But I switch to User once in a while.

Agree with all of this, but in the future I think there should be a letter grade that indicates a sure make. If not A+, then Z, or the ol' lazy eight.

The grade you get now is based on 3 factors; your release, how well the player shoots from that range/spot, and how open/contested the shot is. Perhaps they could show the probability "roll" as well. If you max all of those out on a particular shot, your success rate is infinity...

I personally use Real Player percentages for FT and User Timing for shooting.

I don't believe your example can hold true from my experience with user control. Even if someone mastered Shaq release, his shot grade from the outside will always receive a failing Grade.

Now for decent shooter your example is 100% correct. With sim sliders in my Association, I routinely see 7-10, 13-18, 5-5 type numbers when I shoot 3s with Wesley Matthews because my release is always perfect on catch and shoot plays.
