Re: What would it take for you to buy 2k14?

If the game gets a Wii U release again same as this year I'll buy it. Hopefully I can get a good Madden and NBA 2k14 to hold me over till some good Nintendo games come out.

See if a ps4 or new xbox will be worth buying.

If NBA Live is horrible I'll probably by 2K14.

Re: What would it take for you to buy 2k14?

for me i need passing to get a huge look. it is down right awful

association needs to be completely re done. especially trade logic. and progression

speaking of progression. does anyone at 2k actually test their own potential system and how it affects the influx of 80 and 90 rated players in the league after 5 or 10 seasons??

more spread out ratings. way to many 80 and high 70 rated players. as several roster makers have proved. tendencies are more important than overall rating. yet because a player determines how much he is worth based solely on overall rating. this is highly important

change that players want money based on their ovr. make it more off stats.
players ratings should fluctuate year to year. players have up and down years all the time. why do they always have ovrs either going up or going down.

improved graphics. improved and more animations. better camera angles on replays.

get rid of that stupid intro of the highlights of the teams playing against each other. that is so dumb. you have a rookie starter on a team playing his first game and it shows highlights of him playing against the other team? that is not real? same if you make a trade. that intro needs to go and should only be used after game 1 in any play off series.

honestly. get rid of the jayz input. the gold flashiness got old quickly. class the look of the game up. make it feel more slick and clean. none of the bright gold flashing crap. and the music in the game sucks this year. there are like 5 good tracks everything else gets so annoying so quickly. and the music video intro's what was 2k thinking? so dumb.

for my team make it more like ea where u are always just playing games to build your team. not that stupid season thing and ur done. that ruins its replay value. or play value period

Oh yeah, along with fixing passing and rebounding. 2K needs to STOP focusing on the casual crowd, these people don't know anything about basketball and will buy the game no matter what as long as it looks "shiny and cool". Stop trying to appeal to them that much. You need to focus on the people who want realistic basketball more. You need to buckle down and focus on making the FUNDAMENTALS and basics of basketball(rebounding, passing, defense etc.) work correctly. Less flash, more substance.

A release date. For me the series gets better and better each year. Been playing bball games since double dribble on the NES and seeing how it's evolved to where it is now there's nothing I can complain about

There is one item that would ensure that I purchase 2K14. That is allowing us to play online on the same team just like you would if you were sitting and playing multiplayer on the same console. My brother and I have been waiting and waiting for either NCAA football or 2K Basketball to come out with a game that allows us to be on the same team in a dynasty or association and play vs the cpu. Also think that RTG and My Career would be a ton of fun to play on the same team. Also would like to add the Classic teams/players to online association for doing a fantasy draft.

Thanks to 2K, the PS4 & Xbox 720 I will be switching to playing games on the PC.

So when 2K release the patch on the PC I will pick up 2K14 unless they don't fix; speed, passing, sliding, and unrealistic animations.

I played the crap out of NBA 2K11 cuz of Crew
I played NBA 2K12 for about a month or two
I'm playing the crap out of NBA 2K13

So what's the diff? For me, the ability to go online with your my player keeps this game high on replay value. Also the improvements to this game are underrated -- dribbling stick, sig skills, my player improvements, online association, etc. I've bought enough games from this series to know that it's a must-buy. Anything short of 2K14 turning out catastrophically dumb (something like removing association or my player for no good reason or making my player offline-only), will continue that trend of a release day purchase. So for me, a better question would be 'what would it take for you Not to buy 2K14?' I think they should bring back crew though.

Proper Retro rosters out of the box and the ability to make retro rosters like 2k12. If they are going to pooch the retros and not allow us to work on solid sets like they did in 11 and 12 then a strong crew mode with great servers like NHL has would get me on board.

Outside those two things I will sit out 2k14. Already switched back to 2k12 this year.

Better customization options in my player
                                - Gameface
                                - More hairstyles (360 waves)
                                - Better tattoos (not my request but I know a lot of people desire this)
                                - Ability to edit wingspan
                                - Different player builds that actually display a difference (I would like my player to be thin like Kevin Durant but it just isn't noticeable enough. After all, my player's nickname is Skinny)
                                - Add all of 2K11's shooting animations. How come in 2K11 I can choose how my player shoots when drifting to the right and drifting to the left when in 2K13 it's just one single package? Same thing goes for crossovers. In 2K10 there were separate animations you could choose from for crossover and double crossover but now they're all meshed into one package)
                                - Option to have 2 different jumpshots for mid range and 3 point range. Not really a big deal but it would be useful to me

And last but not least allow us to choose jerseys in my career and CREW
