That kind of proves the point then, because if he was an elite defender wouldn't the coach put him in charge of guarding the other team's biggest threat?

So either:

A) The coach doesn't see him as an elite enough defender to guard those players at similar positions to him (Kyrie, Lebron)
B) He did guard them and they scored a fair bit showing he isn't elite
C) A combination of the two.

But on topic: I like the idea of one to better differentiate between the elite passers (Rubio, Rondo) and the great passers. Also, I'd like one that's something like; SWAT team: Highlight blocks (kind of like a posteriser or Highlight film sig skill for blocking), makes it more likely to perform highlight reel blocks which improve team stamina. Also increases chances of blocking dunks (to a point where it's only consistently possible with people who have this skill.)

ron artest is a superior defender...

kobe is a decent defender.. but i never said he was elite (another user did)... my argument was that you cannot blame one player for letting another player he wasnt guarding score.

Sort of like the one above, Lone Ranger, gives you higher success of shooting very deep 3s. Kobe is the 1st person that comes to mind for getting this.

I think Jamal Crawford could use it. He's pretty adept at shooting long threes as well...

Also, maybe some type of clutch signature skill would be nice. Not like closer, but a skill where there's one second in the game and you have that player who is good at game winners.

Kobe, Joe Johnson, Melo, KD, and Paul Pierce come to mind as players that would have the skill.

Don't wanna sound like a bonehead or anything in my description. While we wouldn't necessarily label Joe Johnson a "closer", he is clutch. Sorry if it's been mentioned already. Haven't read the whole thread...

As for a sig skill.

I think their should be a define clutch a little more

Their should be closer then their should be big time

Activates in fourth quater with less then a 2 min left on the clock. The player with this skill gets small boost to his 3pt, mid ranged and defensive skills.

There are some guys who just hit that big shot or get the key block or steal but don't really have the ability to take over and carry a team to the finish line. Guys like Jason Kidd, Robert horry, chalmers, billups,

The Big TIPPER: for players with the ability to either tap in missed shots,dunk missed shots, & backtap missed shots, some active players that do these things are Sanders,ILYASOVA,Chandler,Verajao,Duncan,are a few

I like this one. Players with this sig skill get the benefit from the refs more often than others who don't have this skill

Yeah, I could see this too....sort of an inverse Charge Card (although that skill has never, ever worked for me).

I could also see something like a ball control kind of thing, where it's hard/near impossible to steal/rip the ball from a guy, whether he's dribbling, grabbing a rebound, etc. Sort of an antidote to Pickpocket/Active Hands. (Iron Grip? Yo-yo String?)

It's Honey Nut Cheerios -- Once per season player can reduce opposing star's shooting ratings with his brand of line-crossing trash talk. Can only be activated if the user is 18+.

LOL. Then at game's end they could have a cutscene of the player waiting by the other team's bus. That team would get a temporary energy boost at the start of their next game.

Most of these are already covered for in the existing sig skills. I think there should be more sig skill slots than 5. If they added reach as an attribute you can edit I can make undersized post players that are energy guys. I'd do scrapper,bruiser, gatorade pack, hustle points, finisher, brick wall, posterizer, post proficiency, and eraser, chase down artist, and lockdown defender.

The only good ones I've read in this thread so far has to be Artist (ability to draw more fouls) and Sparkplug (boosts energy temporarily when in game).
