Anybody else get a kick out of playing old sports games?
I keep all my sports games as they're worth crap after the season's over. I do play them from time to time, like last night. I played NBA 2K6.

Yeah! It always good to hear the songs you heard a long time ago, see those old animations and stuff like that. I like to play NBA Live 06 sometimes.Comment

Re: Anybody else get a kick out of playing old sports games?
The only old sport game I still play is MVP Baseball 2006 (the one with Manny Ramirez on the cover). Unfortunately MVP 2006 is still the best baseball game to date. If only the 2K team of developers who make the NBA games could also make the baseball games... then maybe I could play some baseball from this decade! That would be awesome.Comment

Re: Anybody else get a kick out of playing old sports games?
I've been playing 2K7 (vs the CPU) again the last 3-4 days. With my sliders, roster edits and playbooks (by some OSers) the game plays GREAT! Using the higher 'Broadcast' cam (Nosebleed, or something similar + zoom in the key) and it looks awesome and I can see everything.
Man, I've had some great games, with some nice stats and drama. My Specs:
ZX Spectrum
CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

I remember when every player had the same jumpshot. The only players that had different shots were Tayshaun Prince with his lefty and Shaq's hook shot.Check out my NBA 2k videos and join the team today!!Comment

Re: Anybody else get a kick out of playing old sports games?
yo. MVP baseball totally IS still the greatest baseball game made to date. It's crazy how many people agree. NFL 2K5 with T.O on the cover, also ahead of it's time.
and I was addicted to College Hoops. 2K5-2K8. I played that Dynasty mode sh*t so much. They were great games, still pissed they stopped making them. Think how perfect that would work with MyCareer.... damn.
also NFL Street 2 I think had that awesome "Own the City" myplayer type mode.....that sh*t was pretty awesome.
also I'll never forget NHL 2000Comment

Re: Anybody else get a kick out of playing old sports games?
I actually played NBA Action 98 on my PC several months ago. It's sitting on my desktop, ready to run at any time.
If not for the old graphics (that were already bad for back then) and the fact that I have to play it with a keyboard, I'd play it on a daily basis. Maybe the most sim game back then (I think there is even off-ball control) - less flash and gimmicks than other games back then. Signature moves for several players...and I think it was made by VC, wasn't it?My Specs:
