How much VC do you have in your real account? You seem to be doing everything well, so beyond that I'm not sure what it could possibly be.

25.9k on my main acct.

1.)start from clean xbox load.
2.)log in dummy acct on second controller
3.)load game on first controller
4.)hover over myteam with first controller
5.)hit a on second controller, yes twice.
6.)I've tried both dashboarding instantly and waiting for loading user profile
7.)load game on second controller

nothing, still 1k vc on dummy acct.

Just keep on doing it, it'll work one of these times.

You need a new MyPlayer account, and you need your xbox account to be live. I'm sure yours is live, so if it's asking you to make a MyPlayer account, you must make it.

finally got the vc to my dummy acct after about 20 times trying. 2k is trolling me. ok so I bought steph curry, but it just took my vc and gave me the player. I thought I was supposed to get the player and my VC back? what do I do now?

Good to hear. Now just get Steph Curry and sell him, you only need 25k VC in your dummy account, with the 1k+the most expensive player not injured (curry), you can buy any player that's not injured, so there's no point in having more than 25k VC.

And, the ultimate trolling of 2K was that after I got bird in the 3rd seed I won a game, opened a purple and... bird

You mean with your fake account? Do the other steps, from 9-12 or whatever. Note that you must have less than 20k VC in your real account, or well, less VC than whatever amount you'll spend on a single player. Example, if you have 30k VC and buy a player worth 21k, you'll be left with 9k, while if you have 14k and buy a player worth 21k, you'll be left with your 14k and get the player.
