Everyone who is saying this is over one game you're sadly mistaken because you prob don't watch Every single Bulls game like I do . The increase for Jimmy is prob just a 3 point increase over what he has now . Jimmy Butler since all star break has been on a tear , that's a good 2 months of solid basket ball . All the increase that I've started can backed up by advance stats . A stamina increase is factual because the guy doesn't get tired at all he's like Deng who leads the league in mins . He literally didn't come out the game the last 4 games . An offensive rebounding update ? Again stats can be looked up for a SG/SF he's a great rebounder given to athletic ability . A 63 off rebounding isn't outrageous . His current on ball I believe is a 75 which is way too low for a player being praised by veterans and stars around the league and defensive rating is higher than Avery Bradley and Shump who are both rated higher than him in on ball defense . Jimmy is one of the top 5 man defenders in the league . His three point on the game is 62 yet he's shooting 37% from the 3 this season . Since all star break he's actually shooting 42 % percent . His speed could go up 5 since its at 80 he's faster than that as he hustles down the court him by himself stopped 4 fast breaks against the Knicks . Jimmy is a very good finisher around the basket . I just asked for a lil layup boost he takes a lot of contact and finishes and hits some very acrobatic shots . Now for the sigs lockdown defender , the guy is a freaking pest on defense he gives everyone trouble he knows where to be always . Hustle Points literally contributes to his offensive rebounding but not that I think of it this is prob not needed , should be given to Melo for sure . As a start ha averaging 16 and 7 shooting 48% and 42 from the 3 . IMO he isn't better than Shump who is rated 6 points higher . Yes I know he's coming off injury but he's literally the same player he was last season and yet he got a one point boost based off what ? All my suggestions can be looked up and justified .Last edited by Red Kafe; 04-12-2013, 02:36 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
You're right about offensive rebounding and scoring around the rim.
Corner specialist...not really. He's actually a slightly below average shooter from the corners. I've looked it up and he's shooting 38% from the left and only 32% from the right corner.
He's much better from above the break, shooting almost 42%, so no corner specialist at all.Comment

For example, Deron William's 3pt rating increased to 84 while he's currently shooting .375 from the 3pt arc. Vince Carter and Deron Williams shoots roughly the same amount of 3s. Deron Williams passed VC in 3pts attempted back in March. This is when VC was shooting over .400 from 3pt and Deron Williams at a lower percentage. Deshawn Stevenson was shooting over .400 back in March too, but his 3pt rating didn't get change from the low 70s. He's currently shooting .371 from 3pt and he's no where near 84, granted he shoots less 3s.
I really wish 2K would update Jimmy Butler too, but if he's not a popular player, I doubt they would do anything unfortunately.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
U know I'm all for that
PKnicks just signed Solomon jones. A free agent in the game. 2k got to keep up with the nba news. And Kurt Thomas got cut
Kenyon is day 2 day so he should stay in the rotation and chandler might sit out until the playoffs.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
If anyone deserves an update on the Knicks it's melo. Been rebounding pretty well as of late. And his scoring binge speaks for itself. Jr is fine. He might even be a little too highComment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
JR is rated a little to high. He was fine before he got that last updateComment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
The last one should have kept jr the same. Lowered shumpert a little but raised his three. Lower James white(no explanation needed) side note. Does anyone know if they will ever give home colors for the melo 9s? Those green ones are horrificComment

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
Melo is rated at an 82 on my roster, but that is at PF, 88 at SF. sig skills are shot creator, hustle, microwave, deadeye, heat retention

Re: NBA 2K13 Roster Update Details (4-12-13)
It seems like there are mostly 2 types of players in the mind of 2k devs, spectacular all around superstars and scrubs with not that much in between.
What 2k doesn't understand is the value of good, solid role players that can make all the difference if put in the right system. Look at the Bulls without Rose. If you only read the names, do they look like a team likely to be only 3 wins behind the Nets at the end of the season?
Not to me, but even though all of their key players have some rather big weaknesses, the pieces fit together perfectly.
That's exactly what 2k doesn't get. Most superstars aren't the most skilled player in many different areas, but good to above average in lots of things.
On the other hand, many second tier guys or even role players are easily superior in certain aspects of the game even compared to someone like Kobe or Lebron.
And 2k simply won't get it. You don't have to be the best shooter in order to lead the league in scoring. The best PG doesn't need to be the best pure passer either.
Take midrange ratings as an example. We have off the dribble to differentiate iso scorers from spot up guys.
Now looking at real stats, Bosh is leading the league in mid range FG%. All the major volume scorers don't even make something like the Top 20...
And they don't have to. It's not completely wrong to say that there are at least 25 better pure shooters in the league than Kobe/Durant/Melo.
Lots of players should have better midrange ratings as the big guys, since the value of superstars is not that they're doing everything at the top level, but rather their ability to do many things good enough.
So players like Bosh, Ibaka, Marc Gasol and J.J.Hickson should absolutely have some of the highest midrange ratings in the game.
Yes...probably higher than Kobe and Melo. That's not unrealistic at all since their low off the dribble and ball handling ratings make them useless outside of spot up and PnR situations. But looking only at pure mid range shooting ability, they're probably at least equal to almost every big name superstar.
Instead of the whole overall rating bullsh*t, leading to the need to overrate superstars in every single rating category in order to keep OVR high enough to make fanboys happy, 2k should start to look at every ability on it's own.
So if the Top 30 midrange players are mostly non-superstars, so what? It would be much more realistic to rate players based on their abilities only.
Superstars would still dominate, since they have the most balanced skillsets overall. But they shouldn't be as good or better than all the specialized role players every team needs in order to be successful.Comment
