Re: What team do you feel 2K Can't Represent Well

For some teams you have to play within their styles. While its not perfect it is your only option. For Memphis you go down in the post with Gasol and Randolph, box out, and pester your opponents with Conley and Allen.

2k needs to work on how defenders act. A guy like Avery Bradley(a top 5 defender in the league) pesters the hell out of offensive players for steals and never quits on defense. While a guy like Ronnie Brewer(my favorite player in the NBA) uses his athleticism and length to contest shots.

If you want to see Zach Randolph bang down-low equip him with the bruiser and scrapper sig skills. Those skills fit him pretty well. Look at how he wore down Blake Griffin down over those six games and the scrapper sig skill helps him with box out battles which is the only way he gets 13rpg considering he can't jump over a puddle.

I met him one time at a BBQ restaurant in Cordova(satellite of Memphis) and he actually joked about it. He gets a bad rap but hes actually a pretty cool dude off the court.

Common theme seems to be... Teams that play a slower style, with tough, gritty defense and half court Offense...

It seems like the game is catered to the uptempo teams like the Warriors, Nuggets and Heat (among others)

Cgalligan. Best post of the thread.

The game is pro offense, penetration, guards, speed, and shooting off the dribble. Slow teams that bang down low are not as strong because the game's lack of paint contact, help defense, and defensive rebounding.

The league has turned into a guards game, but teams with good frontlines will always be elite. 2k captured the value of having good guards but not the values of size, strength, and defense. If 2k14 can replicate the inside game as well as they do the perimeter game it will be great.

Their best perimeter defender is given no athletic ability and has a defensive rating of 55. Their bigs' rebounding ratings are completely off: Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter are among the top 25 in terms of top rebounders per 48 minutes (Favors: 14.7, Kanter: 13.5), and Jefferson is right behind them. So does it make sense that Blake Griffin, who is sitting at 12.2 per 48, is given better ratings? I'm just assuming that he has better rebounding ratings, but I'm not sure.

The only real threats on offense are Mo Williams, Al Jefferson, and Paul Millsap, and Millsap is even rough on offense due to 2k's theory that if you're a big and you're under 6'9", you can't play big. The other guys are given little offensive ability.

Celtics,Bulls,Pacers, and Grizzles its almost like this game isn't built for team ball and defense.

                            its not.

and that is because the casual doesnt understand it so 2k dumbs the game down to "first to 140 points wins"

Re: What team do you feel 2K Can't Represent Well

All lottery teams, and a few average teams. 2K only cares and make constant updates to the Elite teams. Mainly because and lets be real about this, the majority of the people that play 2K will use these teams LAL,LAC,OKC, NY & MIA. We all have our favorite team and watch their games exclusively when we can. I doubt the 2K programmers watch games of certain teams the way we do. They go off last year stats as a base for the game, and slowly improve on them stats during the year. They mostly update the game by word of mouth, than actually do the research themselves. Melo has a hot month, every sports program is talking about it then 2K gives him an update. The same happened with Linsanity with 4 updates in one week, just for him didn't update no one else.

I also believe some players were just giving Signature Skills just to justify their worth in the game, some was giving too many , while others was given the wrong Signatures and some were given Signatures that don’t coincide with their attributes. For example: John Wall (I'm a Wiz fan)

Wall has the Shot Creator & Finisher Sig. Skill – I agree with the Finisher to a point, but it doesn’t coincide with his attributes. The Shot Creator doesn’t fit to me because Wall is a driver more than a shooter, so that Signature seems wrongly assigned.

With Wall having all Blue Hot Spots and a 77 mid range rating & 60 3pt rating makes those Signatures seem useless to me and wants me to use him in an arcade way, so instead of shooting a rhythm shot like a catch & shoot or a dribble pull up, the game want’s me to do more step-backs, spin jumpers, leaners and any other shot that will initiate the Signature to set-off, even though I never really tried to shoot those shots with Wall (maybe I should start) it seems like a worthless Signature for him since he’s not a shooter & will most likely miss those shots anyway, but if he’s making them cause of the Signatures your more likely to rely on shooting those arcadey shots, to make him effective from mid range. His shoot-in-traffic rating is so low it also make the Finisher skill worthless also, as any contact will make him miss if he’s not dunking. But if you had those same Signature with a player with higher shot ratings and shoot-in-traffic rating the boost is very notable than it is for a player with the same Signature and weaker attributes. So the better the player attributes the more effective the Signatures will make him.

To me Wall would be better fit with just a Floor General Signature as he does make his teammates better, and his regular attributes already makes him an effective useable player. This Signature better coincides with his attributes as well as how he plays in real life. This will make you use Wall in a Sim way, than Arcadey.

When they finally decided to update Wall (85), they just increased his shoot-in-traffic, consistency, and hot spots. Just to coincide with the wrongly giving Signatures in my opinion.

There are plenty of guys who are deserving of Signatures and don't have them, while too many have them & don't need them. I just wish they did more research and give guys the right one, instead of giving them away just because.

It's defense. Zone defense kills post game so teams like Memphis and the Pacers who want to play a slow grind it down game down low have to play fast. This makes the game way too up and down. Also the awful stamina destroys big guys
