Ratings in 2K are based off of what players are capable of in real life. Players doing things in 2K that they aren't capable of in real life = unrealistic.

only because at higher diff levels they are no longer "those players" (due to the boosts in ratings).

for example a player with 80 on ball rating on HOF is a 92 on ball rated defender, so he is no longer that 80 on ball rated person.

only way to get them back is slider edits and there is a whole thread that has all of this info in detail... it is linked in the 2nd post in this thread.

why is this thread continued to go on?, when there is one already with the same stuff in it.

What some of us are saying is that boosting the CPU's ratings on higher difficulties is not the right way to translate difficulty. A guy shouldn't become a better player because the difficulty is higher.

its not just a rating thing either there are hidden forcefields in hof mode. User defense is next to impossible. I feel like I'm getting cheated and restricted on every possession.

A lot of unrealistic cpu play happens because of poor play on the user side.

Better play reduces it. Unrealistic things happen on all levels on both sides.

Coach do you not agree about the forcefields on high level? There was a guy on youtube that showed how hof has some on it. I jus feel cheated on hof and wanna throw my controller.

After playing more hof simulation is unplayable unless you jus spam the paint by lead passing. U can't get there off the dribble bc of the bumping. Default is better but I still see so many unplayable things on that difficulty. I like how aggressive the cpu is however. I wish I could get that aggressiveness without all the other bs on that level.

That's not at all true. You can get to the paint with pick and rolls, and you can score against the CPU pretty easily in the post and off screens.

I can't agree with that either.

Here's an example of a simple play that got me a wide open look against the hof CPU spurs.

Getting good shots is possible. A couple of games ago I went 9 of 12 from three. At one point I was 7 for 7.

Scoring high points in the paint is possible but not required to play well and still win. Scoring in the paint isn't the sin it's made out to be.

On the force field issue, yeah I see it on occasion but ignore the issue since I've also had games on hof with 10 blocks.

Most of the root causes of problems on hof level are related to our play. Poor play makes getting good shots harder because the defense stiffens up.

Of course the game is blatantly cheating by giving the CPU more advantage. That's the whole purpose of Hall of Fame. To be more challenging which doesn't always equal a fair advantage.

Good news is smart play can help you beat it. Bad news you can still lose by playing smart. And yes CPU hits more bull on higher difficulties I don't even know who's denying that. But on lower difficulties the CPU also misses more easy shots ....

I dont play any of the single player modes. but whenever i play a local match or a friend match its on HOF level. I have played it on HOF a couple times on 2k12 and i remember the CPU knocking down everything. Hand in his face, it didnt matter. I was only able to win one game on HOF and that was because I had one of the the 96 BUlls going against the 96 Sonics.
