Knicks have awful contracts to work around in association mode. I like to keep things realistic. I know nobody in real life would take on Amare's contract so he is untradeable.

      See: Joe Johnson's horrible contract.

Joe Johnson's contract really isn't that bad. I made a Nets association, traded away Humphries and Wallace immediately (legit bad contracts) and did swimmingly from there on out.

One I haven't tried yet is the Raps. Gay isn't good enough to warrant his contract and Fields is a mega flop contract. Beyond that, you have virtually no core big men unless you trade or wait a few years to develop Valanciunas and hope he pans out, Lowry isn't a championship PG, and while Ross and DeRozan are talented and athletic as hell, they can't get you there either. Again, I haven't tried it, but Toronto seems like one of the harder ones to realistically tune/rebuild.

Yeh being realistic Toronto is a hard one, alot will depend on what you get back if you trade Andrea Bargnani.
Yes Rudy Gay is a massive contract i just hope he can become more consistant with his scoring (maybe some development drills??)

but ..I have to defend KLow and Derozan!...Kyle Lowry may not be the superstar caliber of CP3 or D.Rose but he adds a little bit of everything (offence/defence/Hustle!) and Derozan can put up 20 - 22 ppg but you can work with him on his defence to round him out (also same with T.Ross).

If you can keep the core and develope Jonas Valanciunas into a Roy Hibbert type with maybe some better offence...who knows?

But bad contracts are our worst enemy right now...and if your playing realistic association your probably gonna be lumped with Linas Klieza,Landry Fields, and Rudy Gay taking up a heap of financial room...

God,being a Raptors fan is tough lol

The hardest rebuild for me are the suns. They don't have anything valuable for a trade. Unless the cpu doesn't offer you a stupid and unrealistic trade (which it does in my roster pretty often), like Paul George and George Hill for Dragic and Beasley, you will most likely remain with a similar roster in your 2nd season.

Milwaukee is a tough team to rebuild if you are realistic about it.

The Bucks do have Brandon Jennings, and Monta Ellis, but the realistic ways to trade them for assets that you can really use is tough. Very few teams are in need of Jennings, especially with how much money he thinks he is worth. Monta is also a tough situation because you are split between keeping him because he is such a good scorer, or trying to get rid of him for several pieces that will help you rebuild. The Bucks also have Larry Sanders and Ersan which is solid but nothing that will dominate.

The Bucks are a classic middle of the road team, but they have no clear direction, and no identity. Are they a young team that wants to try to rebuild through the draft, or are they sold that Jennings, Monta, Mbah, Ersan, and Sanders can somehow be the answer to a title run once they develop? A lot of tough questions to ask, and you only have one year to do it because Ellis might jump ship and Jennings will want to be paid if you decide to keep him.

What about my Lakers? You virtually have no cap space to work with so usually Dwight leaves. You then still don't have enough money to sign any legit FA's because of Kobe and Gasol's contracts. You end up stuck signing guys like Luke Walton and then finally when all the money comes off the books you can sign some major FA's in 2014.

Depends on what you are looking for, but I chose to build around Larry sanders and illyasova. Traded Jennings for OJ Mayo and a pick plus a bad contract (can't remember who) and played a 3 guard lineup of Ellis-redick-mayo. They were actually a ton of fun to play with as all three could share some of the ball handling responsibilities, and all three could spread the floor. In off season Ellis walked, but was able to keep redick and mayo and then get Jeff teague to run the pg spot.

I really like that idea. That is an interesting direction to take that team in. However, how did you match up against teams like Miami with that line-up? Who defended guys like Lebron and Melo?

So is it destiny Luke Walton returns to the Lakers cos I did a Lakers association and he came back to me as well.

Suns are fun if you can move Gortat and Frye to sign a big man in the off season... like a Milsap or Al Jefferson

I went with the Raptors. You have to trade Rudy Gay IMO, or you can't contend for a championship.
