Yes it is part of the canned block animations but blocked shots need to be looked at. The close out speed is just too fast players are closing out on Westbrook so fast that it looks so unreal. They don't have the one on one interactions right how you can't really do an aggressive block from a standstill or backing up sticking a guard. The risk for fouling on jumpshots is high that players very rarely go for aggressive contest like Jeremy Evans. How the ball handlers live dribble keeps you from contesting too fast or it would be a foul most times or a blow by. They probably need to separate sliders for blocking in the paint vs. blocking on the perimeter. I think the only way to do it would be restricting aggressive blocks to the point you have to be moving build up speed with turbo then you jump just like real life.

This definitely happens in 2K. I knocked down a 3 once in 2K12 or 11 with Joel Anthony. I didn't even get the release right either, and it was from about 30 feet.

I've seen Shaq make threes in real life. So what's the point of this thread? It happens.

The OP claimed that it almost never happens in the game. A claim that has since been refuted.

i have seen big men shoot threes like it's nothing, as long as they aren't draining them @ Danny Green consistency then its good. pointless thread

It's not just closeouts. Speed and quickness in general need to be completely reworked for 2k14. It's been an issue the last few years; players who are fast and quick in real life don't feel any faster than slow players. Derrick Rose should be able to beat Emeka Okafor up the court on a fast break, but it doesn't happen. Kyrie Irving gets a mismatch with Joakim Noah, and Noah miraculously keeps up with his speed and handles. It's just not realistic, and smaller players are at a disadvantage.
