Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
Theres got to be matching uniforms for crew. I used to hate playing blacktop and your guy has on a black shirt, and then one teammate has white and the other has a random color. And then on the other team you have two black and one white. And it seems like half the people online look like Howard with 30 something different accessories.Comment

Then I say keep on them as constructively as you can till crew heads get what they want. You also have the benefit of a competing product should they have a similar mode. Be vigilant, be organized and be civil.
Make videos, blog posts, illustrating exactly what you want and why. Then either they or their competition will know what to deliver.
Also seeing how good EA's club mode is in both FIFA and NHL , I'd imagine they'd go the same route with live .
2k you've done it before , you can do it again.Comment

if crew is back than crew is going to have its own section in the main menu. which is where you can edit your logo and stuff. im guessing this is where you can hit up the 5v5 part online. because that 3v3 part in the video looked like the regular ONLINE section of 2k.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
Can't say I'm really surprised tbh, 2k has done this the last couple of years now. Ronnie 2k goes on twitter and gets everyone hyped for some big announcement, which ends up being really underwhelming. Last year he did it twice with the Dream Team thing and Jay-Z helping them produce the game.Comment

Yeah. I agree with you, people complaining about the atmosphere. To me, Crew is 5v5, and you beat down on your opponent. You know what would make it better? You start from Street, to the Summer Circuit court to a generic
Basketball arena to NBA-atmosphere. It gives people purpose to play the mode instead of "who's the best"

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5
I personally feel that 2k14 will be an embarrassment of a game. First they reveal you can block dunks *cough* which should be in the game anyway *cough* Then they give you the SAME EXACT FEATURE from 2k13 (3 v 3 Blacktop), throw the "Crew" name on it, put out some secret code so everyone will orgasm at the thought of crew being back, and reveal the half-assed version of the game to the world. I'm not a programmer, but how hard could it possibly be to basically implement online team-up with your my players in it? Time and time again, 2k sacrifices a good product and the opinions of their fans to save a few bucks. As usual, nothing but laziness and greed from 2k. I will not purchase nba 2k14 this year. End rantComment

You seem new and do not know how marketing goes.

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3 vs. 3 or 5 vs. 5 (Current-Gen Only?)
Wow. That actually makes 2K look quite bad.
Essentially it sounds like 2K wanted them to shill the "return" of "Crew", which was just 3v3 Blacktop with stamina. Then they hastily hacked in 5v5 after Shake and Kspade wouldn't play ball.
Props to those couple of guys, but that doesn't give me a feeling of confidence or trust regarding what 2K was trying to pull on us this year at all.
Now it makes COMPLETE sense why "Crew" was shown running on a small screen in the background while a YouTuber talked it up in the foreground. They didn't really want to show it because they knew it would demo badly and what they had didn't look like Crew at all.
A week of coded hype for this? Yikes.
My theory is this:
2K didn't want to invest too much effort on current-gen 2K14, but wanted to retain its sales numbers since current gen consoles still have a massive install base, and current gen 2K14 will still make up a mass majority of their projected sales.
A full featured Crew would take too much resources from their other next-gen SKU, but a leaderboards Blacktop mode renamed "Crew" would be a huge marketing bullet point for the end-of-life platform, since it's one of the most requested features and they thought they could pass it off as Crew-lite with some minor tweaks. Enlist some Youtube A-listers and the rest is history.
Call me cynical, but this does feel a bit like a cynical money grab.Comment
