In case any of the crew guys haven't seen these yet:

-From Ronnie2k's twitter: "Crew requests getting passed to dev. Good gameplay makes this mode, too easy to score on blacktop last yr. Will be different this yr"

-From LD2k's twitter: "Crews requests have been forwarded to Dev's. Glad we get 5v5 action, logos, leader boards. I'm wiping your crew out."

and: "Blacktop last year was examined and Dev's wanted to make sure gameplay is balanced and competitive across the game - including crews."

If you read between the lines here it is looking more and more like "crews" will ONLY be on blacktop, whether 3v3 or 5v5. The mentioning and justification of blacktop by both of them suggests this. Also, in LD2k's first tweet he mentions 5v5 action, logos, and leadboards, but absolutely nothing about jerseys, arenas, etc.
I could be wrong, and only time will tell, but for now it looks like we can definately expect blacktop only, and street clothes.


oh, and inb4 marvinoida makes his routine "we don't know yet we have no proof" post. :wink:

I agree with you that the VC will definately lead to a large amount of teams with 99's right out of the gate. And that is definately lame. However, that is really the least of my worries about crew; because with the amount of money 2K can earn from VC sales the VC model will never go away. We're just gonna have deal with it. Besides, if the game turns out to be alot of fun, who's to say that most of us on here won't be up to 99 ourselves within a couple of months.

Guys, every publisher is doing it. If you're patient and willing to work for the VC, you don't spend a dime. I didn't.

thats where you're wrong. WE decide because WE are the ones PAYING with OUR MONEY. if we didn't have a bunch of bend overs who take anything they can get, maybe we wouldn't be complaining because we would get what we want. Maybe you all settle for whatever because of no competition, and i would certainly not buy it if i didn't like basketball or if i had another basketball game to buy. Truth is i like basketball and it just so happens that 2k is the only maker right now so my hands have been tied.

Good thing is i have something to fall back on (GTA) this year and check back next year to see if they cleaned up their act.

But you need to realize that more often than not, you represent a very small part of the audience. Don't think that most people agree with you because you and 10 other Crewbies fill up an OS thread. 2k12 (and i think 2k13) outsold 2k11 without Crew. So, apparently, folks weren't that best up about it as you may think.

this wait till october stuff is for the birds. they wouldn't have showed us that crew vid if that wasn't what going in the game. why show an early model, and damage sales, if they knew a better one was coming? 5 on 5 will be full court blacktop, and it'll disappoint us. you can either be disappointed now(and be less disappointed by october 1st), or be more disappointed then. our only hope for a good crew is next gen.

You are right and wrong. Wrong in that you don't define Crew. They do. Now if you don't like it, you can express that. And that's cool and you should. But you need to realize that more often than not, you represent a very small part of the audience. Don't think that most people agree with you because you and 10 other Crewbies fill up an OS thread. 2k12 (and i think 2k13) outsold 2k11 without Crew. So, apparently, folks weren't that best up about it as you may think.

Sorry to say, but for a MOD you come across on here as very bitter and petty towards the crew community.

I would say since it has considerably more views than the "2k14 features revealed" thread, made on the same day, that people definately care about crew; hell maybe even as much or more as they do about finding out what's going to be in the next game. But you're right, all those people probably just clicked on the thread by accident.

First, I'm not a mod. If I were, the ban hammer would be broken from overuse. Second, polls are filled in by folks the that pound the forums. The same people I'm talking about. The vocal minority. Vocal, but still a minority. Lastly, a lot of you guys come off as butt hurt and defensive. If I come off petty to any group, it's the group of people pitching a fit because they THINK they didn't get exactly what they want. Well, cry a river. It's a game. No puppies will be harmed if Crew isn't played in an arena. There is SO much crying about assumed minutia, I'm starting to think VC should have just left the mode out completely until it was fully baked. But then we would REALLY be seeing crying, I guess. Any reasonable person would settle for part of what they want if they can't have it all. I'm sure many of the Crewbies will make do. But some of them are really going off. "Well, I'll just buy Live" before they even know if Live will actually ship, let alone have a Crew like mode that they crave so much.

And for the record, being bitter versus being annoyed (and mostly amused) with incessant whining and temper tantrums are two different things. But if you prefer to call it bitter, that's fine. No skin off my back. :P

...When did I ever say people clicked on the thread by accident? All I was stating was that not all who view it are heavily invested in crew. They click on the thread because its information about 2k14. Doesn't mean they are big crew fans.

Also, a factor contributing to this thread having more views is that it was made by Steve. So it's bound to be official information. The features thread was created by jerzeyreign who is a regular user. Not the creator of the whole site.
