Re: NBA 2K14 Feature List Revealed
I mean it has been literally 5 years with not a single effort by 2k to improve the issues in association. If they haven't done so this year that is ridiculous.Last edited by Melbournelad; 08-15-2013, 12:05 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Feature List Revealed
Just read this now. This is the type of news that get me excited. So much stuff in here sounds promising. Lets see:
Pro Stick: Intriguing. Need more info. I like how they describe it as "intuitive". Throwing no look passes on command is very welcome.
2K Smart Play Button: Nice addition. If this works well I'll be using this a lot.
Improved Player Motion System: Player movement is an emphasis this year, so much so that it is a bullet point. Man, I have been posting about player movement for years and am glad to see this. "Explosive cuts"? "Tighter control"? Can't wait to see how this plays in the game.
Playbook and Play System enhancements: More plays is always good, but "improved spacing logic" is essential. Hopefully will be on par or better than 2k11's spacing. "Team specific plays" is nice as well.
Shot System Upgrades: "Realistic footwork on jump shots". "Improved awareness in shot selection". Hopefully we will be able to pull off the type of jumper animations we intend to every time.
Dribbling Advancements: I'm intrigued by "new branching technology". Maybe dribbling will be more fluid. Right stick dribbling is something that has the potential to go further.
Enhanced Passing: Personally, this is the thing I want improved. I've been posting about the passing for years. To me, it is such a fundamental part of basketball that has been handled poorly in 2k for far too long. I like how it's improvement is emphasized in a bullet point. "More accurate pass targeting" hopefully means we can use the pass button and directional passing safely and no longer have to use position passing unless we want to. "Better handoffs" is good. Handoffs should screw up much less than they do in 2k. I mean, its a handoff. Can we have an overhead pass control, though? Is the passing speed/in-air speed/catching logic/passing animation logic better?
Learning Defensive A.I.: If this works well, it'll add a lot of variety in the game. Maybe we won't be able to use the same strategies over and over, and have to do other things. Difficulty could be more organic and not just about boosting the cpu's attributes. Will the help defense be better?
Block Improvements: We knew about this, but I am intrigued by "more realistic physics" and "new player collisions". Blocking dunks is great, but we aren't going to block every dunk. Maybe better physics and collisions mean that we could impede the dunker on a block attempt and affect his momentum or force him into a layup if we don't get the block. I also like "more responsive control". Maybe there won't be a long delay between pressing block and our guy jumping anymore.
All New Ball Denial: "No more getting stuck during off ball bumps and ball denial". It was always annoying waiting for bumps and ball denial animations to end. It just stymied player movement even more. Good that we can break out of them sooner.
Enhanced dribbler vs. on-ball defender contact: Very much needed. Hopefully now on ball D can be more skill based and we can lock people up with a Tony Allen-type. Maybe "hard bumps" could mean we can affect spins and direction changes more.
Overall, this all sounds great on paper(or monitor) so we'll still have to see how this all plays out in the game. If anything, these bullet points do show me that 2k has paid attention to some nitty-gritty fundamental things like player movement, spacing, defense and passing. Of course, this all sounds good now without experiencing the game yet, but its very promising that these things are featured as key improvements. Now I need news on MyCareer and Association, which are both coming up.Last edited by Slava Medvadenko; 08-15-2013, 07:27 AM. Reason: dribbling advancements changed a littleComment

Well I'm excited... And a bit disappointed that MyTeam is current gen only... I mean I went 12 years without it I guess I can go one more. Hopefully this changes but oh well.Visit my YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/LILNICB15

Wait, why is MyTeam current gen only? That's just silly.Comment

Why do you guys keep doing this to yourselves? PS3 & 360 only means that the PC version is left out. It implies nothing for next gen.
