Looking like PS4. I only went to Xbox b/c at the time of purchase it was cheaper. But oh the tables have turned. Sony, I'm coming home!

*But I am worried about the difference b/t PSN and XBL. I think XBL is very well done. Would love news on upgrades to PSN. I'm reading a lot of things I take for granted on XBL were not available to PS3 users.

Re: Calling all online league players/which system will you be getting?

I've never been much of an online league guy mainly because I like my retro NBA more than current. However roster editing tools probably wont find their way on to next gen for a few years so I am seriously considering joining a league this year. I will be playing on a PS4 for a number of reasons. I have always owned both systems and prefer the Xbox controller however I can not overlook that fact the MS has been so wishy washy on all the info on the XBone. Because of this I decided a PS4 at launch with an XBone in a year or two. Plus I get a better baseball game with the PS4 and Sony in my opinion offers better exclusive titles.

I agree with you here! I just want a great online experience! I don't mind xbox1 changing its tune though, Im just glad they did. I'm still up in the air on which to go with 1st. But I have always liked xbox online and preferred it.

Let me ask everyone this, wasn't PS3 harder to code and make games for compared to the 360? Will this still be the case on next gen? Also, I know it was easier for people to have tools and mods for 360 and PS3 you couldn't do any of that. Will this be the same for next gen? Maybe we won't have that answer yet and its yet to be determined.

I don't know what to do?! LOL!

Yes, while the PS3 had the more powerfull hardware, it was also considered the less friendly to work with. For multiplattform companies, it was almost a given that they made the game for the 360 and ported it to the PS3. However, PS3 exclusives and first parties showcased the current gen system prowess.

Then again, for Sony, this next gen is all about appealing both, the devs and the customers. They designed the console going by devs direct feedback and apparently unlike its competition, also went as far as giving special and meaningfull advisory to many devs once they introduced the next gen kits (to ease getting used to the technology), which was very well acclaimed in social medias and by games publishers.

Many think (my self includded) that this was why, after 2K said it wasnt going to show on E3, they decided to do so and was on PS4. Since this next gen was so hyped on how it would allow to run multiple algorithms (such as physics, AI enhancers, lightning and shadowing, etc) without affecting graphics, I was greatly impressed by what I saw of 2K (PS4) on E3. After asking for advice to many friends "experts" on hardware matters, they all coincided on that the PS4 structure should be again the most powerfull (yet by even more of a margin) and should be easy to work with, leaving aside their focus on aiding the transition.

These, along with my bad personal experience with MS (4 RROD to just 1 damaged PS3), the more affordable price, the tangible benefits of PS+, all the new social additions such as video/music streaming and that most of my friends are going with Sony, made me choose the PS4.

Having said that, I loved xbox online, specifically that it featured more gamers (might change if many do the crossover), chat (now available on PS4), its store and its download times (for all, console and game updates and patches) ... couple that with the investment they made on servers and the cloud technology and it is still highly appealing.

Ultimately, you cant miss by choosing one over the other and it will strongly depend on were your closest friends end on.

yes, but sony has apparently corrected this problem for the ps4. they were aware of that weakness, so they designed the ps4 to be easier to work with...i think they consulted with devs in the industry so they could be sure not to repeat the mistakes they made with the ps3. from what i have read, ps4 and xbox one will be very close in almost every regard...so i don't think one will have a noticeable advantage over the other (like the 360 did over the ps3).

As I said earlier... watch the next gen trailer and see whom 2k choose to plaster all over the place... then ask why.

                  8/21/13 - http://www.nowgamer.com/news/2051214..._xbox_one.html

AMD's senior product marketing manager, Marc Diana, has stated that the way in which the PS4 is constructed means that the PS4's performance will be even better than previously thought
...spoken to a number of developers behind the scences at Gamescom, who they say have confirmed anonymously that the 3D performance of the PS4 is indeed better than that of the Xbox One.

We recently spoke to CEO of Just Add Water and Oddworld Inhabitants development director Stewart Gilray, who has Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty coming out for the PS4 and PC, about the same, to which he replied, “Completely, it’s a high-end PC with extras, by that I mean the DDR5 RAM, the fact it doesn’t have an OS such as Windows on it taking up MUCH of the system resources, leaving us developers access to pretty much the entire hardware, meaning we can do more at with better performance than an equivalent PC spec.”
and another article (from today) http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/16...ust-eventually

                  were AMD retracted Diana's response...
AMD’s corporate vice-president of marketing, John Taylor, has since contacted us regarding the comments Marc Diana made to C’t. AMD’s official response is as follows: ”During a recent Gamescom 2013 interview, an AMD spokesperson made inaccurate statements regarding the details of our semi-custom APU architectures. AMD will not comment on the Microsoft Xbox One and Sony PS4 memory architectures and will not speak for Microsoft, Sony or other AMD customers.”
Saving grace here... it slipped out... retract and make up for it... but as always... take it for what its worth right now.... = not much, so best bet is to wait and see how it plays out and the reviews start kicking in.

games gotta match the tech just like PC. problem is most of us here are sports and multiplatform gamers. Exclusives are nice like killzone and titanfall but we all know what game will come first

okay... i don't get what your trying to say...

'games gotta match the tech like pc'... yes, devs need to take full advantage of the hardware... which we will see since the consoles have pc architecture.

'problem is most here are sports and multiplatform gamers' .... ummm yeah its operationsports... both sides have exclusives... both sides share alot of games... so i dont get what your saying...

'we all know what game comes first'... no doubt which one... which is really my main point... watch the next gen trailer and you see ps4 everywhere... no mention of xb1... why is that? I have my beliefs.

no, its just a deal. Sorta like how COD ghost was shown in the microsoft conference but not the sony conference. the companies just have deals for gameplay and what not.

I choose the ps4 as my first next gen system because...

                            1) It's cheaper.
                            2) The ps4 interface and online experience seems to be greatly improved.
                            3) Yes, you may need ps+ for some online features, but not to record or stream games online. And unlike xbox, their subscription service is not needed for Netflix or some of the other apps.
                            4) I like ps4's exclusives more than than xb1's exclusives.
                            5) If I ever purchase a Vita, the PS$/Vita Remote play seems like a great feature.
                            6) The ps4 just seems more like an actual gaming system.

I'lll probably get the xbox1 in a couple years, I just feel like the ps4 was the way to go for next get gaming.
