Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - LeBron James, Roy Hibbert & Victor Oladipo
But jeez Hibbert looks massive. Man the pacers gettin scarier and scarier. I hope next year we get another Knicks vs Hicks series. Just like old times. with MWP bringing physicality to the knicks and the pacers playing how they play it could be a war.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - 13 More Players Revealed
I would like to know if the "dynamic updates" deal with tendencies as well.
Ratings are only part of the equation.
If the updates don't deal with tendencies they would be pointless for any gamer who predominatly plays the single player modes.
Not that I will be utilizing 2ks updates. They have always sucked, There is no reason to think this trend won't continue, regardless of the sales pitch.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - 13 More Players Revealed
Some people are just curious about the ratings. I know that I am. I do have to admit...the ratings war have been very tamed this year. Last year, it felt that there were tons of threads with 10+ pages of people arguing why Kobe should be rated higher than Melo, etc. Paul George is really the only consensus "Too high" rating.Comment

lol don't you know "Monta Elli have it all" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G9yS2-x5sA lol
nah his defense is horrid and he's undersized for a SG... his perimeter defense should be like a D+ in the game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - Paul George, Cody Zeller & Brook Lopez
Dude, you can't judge a player for 1 game... Have you seen him in summer league? Impressive player (yes, I know its SL, but he was impressive anyways)
I usually don't pay much attention to overall ratings, but analazyng his strengths , with just 68 overall I bet he will be severelly underrated in a lot of attributes. I mean, Chris freaking Johnson is 66 overall.... So this looks like a slap in the face for Zeller
That's my thing...I think a 68 WOULD be alright for Zeller if there weren't so many other players rated higher throughout the game who I sincerely doubt are better basketball players (although, you know, that's subjective and the overall rating doesn't REALLY matter anyway except in determining your team's overall rating which, I don't give a crap what anyone gets on here and tries to tell me, has an effect on your team momentum and ability to close).
Ultimately, I think by the time all was said and done (and Gerald Green was nice and nerfed) 2K13's player ratings were a relative strength of the game...however, it was always kind of ridiculous to me that Gordon Hayward was stuck at 68 when you had like Kelenna Azubuike at 71, Raja Bell and Mo Evans in the 70s, etc...
I know it's hard to keep everything in perspective with so many players in the game, but some things are just egregious. That's my thing with PG being an 80+ three point shooter. What does an 80+ three point shot rating translate into? For most everybody else in the game who's got that rating, it would be shooting at or near 40%. Yet, PG, who shot 35% I believe and Gerald Henderson, who shot 33% are like 20 points apart in the ratings. Andre Iguodala was at a 77 3-pt rating because of incessant complaining by the community by the end of 2K13s run, but shot 32% this year and 39.4% last year, almost 5 percentage points HIGHER than PG has ever shot. Hopefully this new stat tracking live roster system will alleviate that, but as primarily an OA player I look forward to seeing who will be 2K14's version of the "Gerald Green, Delonte West, Raja Bell, Mo Evans, Kelenna Azubuike, Josh Selby" class of players who are WAY, WAY, WAYYYYY better than they should be.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - 13 More Players Revealed
The amount of steals has very little correlation to being an overall good defender. It just means you're more likely to play the passing lanes, which can leave you prone to gambling and the player you're guarding haveing an easy drive.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Player Ratings - 13 More Players Revealed
Your claim of "no basketball IQ!" is completely inaccurate, especially as of late. Russ had the lowest turnover rate of his career last year, jacked up his assists to 7.4 per game, and had the highest PER of his career last season. Yes, he shoots a lot of mid range jumpers, but he's quite effective shooting above league average from that range, and still getting to the rim enough to keep his overall FG% at league average.
He's lethal in transition and also gets to the line for an average of 7 attempts per game. Yes, his defensive awareness needs work, but he's only 24 and he still hasn't reached his ceiling.
I think as long as CP3 and Parker are up there near or above his rating, 91 is perfectly fine.Hates exclusive licenses...

I mean, I kinda disagree. Russ is pretty freaking good. The only PGs I'd rate above him right now are probably CP3 and Parker. (Maybe Rose if he's healthy).
