This is what I said... going back and looking at it now... damn that sounds like a lot, but really, as said, how controllable is this gonna be... is it gonna be one of those "oh I got the animation!" type things, or is gonna be "okay, i got him right here... bam!, got'em coach" type things.

Contextual vs controllable... have to wait and see.
Yeah that's definitely the test, I mean even it's still going to be a contextual thing to an extent but I get what you're saying. It's like you know how they have it to where if you try to turbo through a screen, you might just get called for a foul. I hope drawing charges is similar in that if you're just trying to excessively force your way through a defender who's obviously in position, bam got'em coach can happen.

It's once of those balancing issues, I mean it can't be so sensitive that it happens any time an offensive player hits turbo but I'd love to see offensive fouls being called without having to hit the charge button.
Same deal if you're completely stationary, even with hands straight up and someones driving recklessly down the lane. Hit them with a charge.

I think 2K are doing a fantastic job of how they are playing this out.

Their direct competition is starting to come out with some info - next gen only and they have thought about the current gen market, looks like they are producing a game which will see off current gen very nicely. I am reading "balanced" quite a bit and I think that sounds very good. The graphics would be at a point where they could only fit so much in......

Next gen, with this 2K14 engine with nicer graphics would be another step up again and I am hunching more will actually come (not just graphics)...... so I am thankful 2K is around and keeping the poise and sanity, producing yet another solid instalment.......

      Thanks 2K!

This question is actually out of this articles...

If im not mistaken someone told that PC version of NBA 2K14 are "Half Current Gen/ Half Next Gen". I think it's JasonWilliams55 mentioned this (but i'm not sure). Specially there's no "LIMIT" in CG in PC so it can be?!

        Can Someone Clarify this... Please...

Nobody knows and I doubt we will be getting any news about since we are so close to release. Just lower your expectations and all will be just fine....

All I want is the the PC version to be released without delays....

There was no way they could get a balanced game in 13 with such a short time to tune a game with no live ball and limitied 2 player animations.

Hopefully, 13 will be the game that took a step back in many areas in order to make the game better in the future.

Similar to adding lanes into a highway. Construction will slow traffic for a while and riding in one lane will be horrible for the year of construction but once all the lanes are running the highway will be better and more efficient.
Hopefully 2K learn from this experience and believe that the democratisation of games, in other words - listening to the "fans" - is a sham, because most of the fans don't have enough knowledge of the game mechanics or basketball to know what should be in the game. It's not enough to just go on OS, and ask for opinions, you've got to challenge those opinions, and if there's no adequate reply, you discard that opinion.

Now my question is can you take any retail copy(Best buy,Gamestop etc.) to Microsoft to get the $10 dollar upgrade? or do you have to purchase the current-gen copy from there to be eligible for the upgrade.

Video looks good, and the upgrades sound promising. My biggest complaint in previous NBA 2k games has always been with the spacing, and it appears as though the devs have addressed that this year. Unfortunately I can't commit to buying the current gen version of 2k until I know what will be different between current gen and new gen. I am hoping to buy a PS4 before the end of the year but i dont want to have to pay $60 twice for the same game. There would have to be some substantial upgrades besides graphics.

I feel y'all on that, 2k has stated that CG and NG will have different aspects to them.

I dunno what it is but I have this gut feeling that NG is gonna be good... like stomp EA in the throat good.

I hope your gut is right on this one! It would be a dream come true for NG to include CREW mode with normal NBA rules! (I know they announced CREW is for CG ONLY but a guy can dream)

Can't let them get back up or they will have to play ball again. Smartest option would be to crush now while they are weak.

EA released a NG teaser and 2K dropped a CG dev video, a CG dev video. I dunno, I just don't feel that they are worried otherwise imo we would have seen something else. Just me though... hopefully I am not wrong.

Well I think this is inevitable, maybe not 14 but who knows...

The difference between 2k and EA is that when 2k tells you about things they're doing, they go into detail and you actually see the improvements in the game each year. If Mike Wang is telling me that the game is a huge upgrade to last year, I believe him because in my opinion the game has gotten progressively better each year since he came back to 2k. HUGE leap forward last year with the dribble controls, and now it appears they're really putting in work on the defensive end. Is it a brand new, completely innovative game? No, but when you have such a fine product to begin with, you can get away with a shorter list up upgrades and new features.

NO! We NEED LIVE to be decent at best because people could choose and 2K would then have to up their game..That happened with NBA 2K11 when ELITE 11 dropped.

i did not like that turn around pass block that Morris did vs Love. just spins and automatically knows where the ball is? ok.

anyways, i remember the difference in videos from 2k12 to 2k13 and you could physically see how the game was going to 'feel' different. i don't get that so much with the videos this year, but i'm willing to not judge until i play it. all i've read from jwilliams // da_czar has me more pumped than ANYTHING 2k has actually put out.

next year just hire those guys! lol.
