If I can defend against it at a high success rate, then I really don't care. In fact, I will encourage it. That just means more possessions for me.Comment

Re: Nba2K14 (CG) - Flashing passes - Cheese
I said this months down the line in the multitude of "This is cheese", "That is Cheese", "Extra Cheese on my Pizza", "Pastrami and Cheese Sandwich", and "Wisconsin Cheese" threads that popped up here. There will always be a move in a game that seems over-powered or "Cheesy" to people and that NBA 2k14 would be no different. It's impossible to make a perfect game where everything is super balanced without one tactic standing out. In a non-competitive world where we play against friends on the couch, this wouldn't matter. In the age of the internet where everyone wants to be #1, people will find the best tactic, latch on, and it will be considered "Cheesy" because everyone is doing it.
That MAY be the case for the flashy passes(Not even going to take the realism into account with the Nene pass, as I'm commenting on how this may be cheese instead of how realistic him throwing the pass is). However, we have yet to play the game and see how bad it is. It could be a tactic that allows for unblockable pin-point precision passing that get's abused. It could be how the dev's said, in which big men throwing a lot of them will not connect and the NeNe pass may have been an exception to the rule(If it's a 70% fail rate for bad passers, they still can make it happen 30% of the time, right?).
Let's all hold off our judgement, put the pitchforks and torches down, and delay the use of our "Angry Mob Storming the Castle" license until we're ABSOLUTELY Sure this is an undefendable tactic. We truly don't know until the sticks are in our hands how bad this will be, and while I don't condemn any of you for being as on guard as you are given the previous years, let's just wait and see. Right? Anyone?Female Russell Westbrook.

Now I am a diehard 2k guy... but passes in/around the paint go unpunished more often than not. I am just saying from my brief time on the sticks and the vids that I feel that flashy style passes might be a bit too accurate. Again prob. due to get people to use it since its a new feature, I get it, just from a 'sim' perspective its a bit over easy.

Re: Nba2K14 (CG) - Flashing passes - Cheese
Watch: 46 seconds - Magic does the same over the shoulder pass that Nene does (right hand over left shoulder) except Nene is doing this in transition to a guy on the wing (also in transition) while Magic has a cutter while in the post. Is it Magic > Nene, Magic = Nene or Nene + transition = Magic?

Yes, as long as flashy passing has an appropriate response when done incorrectly I'll be cool, I'm a little queasy about it right now tho... all that foreseeable cheddar that I'm going to be having to deal with.
now when you go online LOL........who knows how that will end up
just for the record I was a big fan when passing was very difficult, you had to dribble and work the ball around to find passing lanes. but that year the boards lit up like a Christmas tree saying passing was too hard. I just feel for the developers trying to make us happy because opinions vary so drastically.Comment

Re: Nba2K14 (CG) - Flashing passes - Cheese
Nene + transition + a miracle = magic lol. but I agree with you, I hope its adjustable so that the difficulty of the pass is tied to the individuals passing skill level. and while most everyone should be able to pull off a nice one here and there, everyone shouldn't be able to turn into kid, Rhondo, or Magic . but being that they have made it user controlled im almost sure there will be some instances where someone pulls of some passes that make us say NO WAY should he have done that. but between sliders and player ratings im thinking I will be fine with the game.

IM hoping they have some signature "flash" in there. If so can you imagine running the break with your namesake? Ol J Will.....he was always one of my favorites to watch. Should've gotten a shot at a ring in Sacramento with WebberComment

Flashy passing should only apply to players with a rating over 75 or so.Comment

Re: Nba2K14 (CG) - Flashing passes - Cheese
So far, your preemptive worries about the cheese factor of flashy passes are unwarranted. Flashy passes are not an automatic connection and they can be deflected. Could be that most of the ones I've thrown were unintentional and that's why they're unsuccessful. But so far, so good. The game is ours we'll never foul out. - Jay-Z

Well... it is a HIGHLIGHT mix about passing, they're not going to show tipped or intercepted passes. Nobody says it never happens in the nba. We're saying it shouldn't be as succesful as it seems to be.DISCLAIMER: low quality video, not suited for snobby eyes MyCAREER Power Forward MIX - 2k13
