Am I pretty much **** out of luck if I haven't pre-ordered an xbox one yet?

I'm not even sure if I want it yet, can you transfer your gamer tag and stuff like that or is xbox one just a fresh start. If that's the case I might just go with PS4

Also I'm getting 2k14 for Xbox and I have madden and GTA for xbox, I wonder if I would be able to upgrade to the PS4 copy for another 10 bucks

That would be Ideal. I wish theyd "turn him loose" this month (yeah im from the south) I still think his 2k6 or 2k7 TI video was the best!!!! his intro last year was really good too. I don't know why they don't use him more for online promotion.
does anyone know if that TI video is still up online somewhere?

We disagree. OS's whine "quota" is no more or less then it was 5 years ago, I just think the ways of communication have "changed" so that companies are enamored and fascinated with social media and they focus on what is the popular thing.

In many companies, the same people (or even fewer of them) are asked to do more - so people like Ronnie, LDK2 and Chris Priestly (over at EA) are going to be spending more of their time and effort on these new forms of communication.

I too credit 2k team members for continuing to come here but I think that is more of a function that they themselves are true members of this community than any policy or requirements from 2k itself.

This may not be popular to say, but I think given 10 years or so, social media will not be playing as a big of a role in marketing and promotion as it is today.

Game companies want to expand their market and they view social media as the next great frontier for doing so. Personally, I think companies like 2k would be better served by focusing on their core market but suits and industry "geniuses" disagree with me. We are going to see about a decade of this "social media gaming for the masses" offerings. Like it or not, this is how the people in charge are thinking.

I am looking forward to 2kAngryBirds mode that will be releasing in a couple of years. Oh, and you can bet your bottom dollar, Ronnie will be screaming that it will be the greatest mode 2k has ever released.

At least locally, Best Buy is not taking pre-orders for the systems. You may have to camp out for it.

I don't get it. Why are you bashing him and accusing him of just acting like he actually does his work?

Why do you talk to him as if you're entitled to NBA 2K? It's a privilege and in all honesty if you don't like the franchise or the way their employees market their stuff, then don't support it.

The word that keeps popping in my head is "immersion". Hard to describe but in a game like Red Dead Redemption you feel immersed in that world, I've yet to have that experience in 2k. The arenas are stale, the crowd looks ridiculous, the crowd noise is repetitive and predictable as are the announcers. The gameplay is fun but the atmosphere never feels realistic and I hope that changes.

That's strange, because one of the announcers was a Live announcer, and the other-- Harlan-- is also a primary TNT announcer and has been solid. Kellogg is okay, but I get that he's not well liked by some.

2K is solid but can stand improvement-- but it's been the most immersive of basketball games. I'd rather have crowds that look ridiculous than players that look and move ridiculous, ie, like in that other series. I still have some problems with proportions and animations in their next gen screen shots and trailers. That I can't deal with, and is way more important than crowds and arenas (which I think are acceptable in current gen 2K).

The way the crowd looks doesn't bother me but their awareness of what is going on sucks. If I dunk on someone the way VC dunked on Weis the crowd should go nuts. If someone hits a game winner the crowd should go nuts. Can we get a Brooklyn chats during Nets game

You do understand what his job is right, when he is on this board he is working, not shooting the breeze.

If I worked for 2K I wouldn't be able to keep from going off on people like Shepard does to that annoying reporter in every Mass Effect.

What is he supposed to say? "Uh, yeah. We tried to have practice mode but we are totally swamped and resources were triaged to more critical components of the game."
