Got traded to the Lakers, decided to step it up to HOF SIM... broke an old tv remote after the 1st game against the bucks. Same old bs.

Is anyone else having problems with jump shots? Specifically catch and shoot jumpers. Sometimes the jump shot animation starts quickly n I get a late release. Other times it hesitates for a split sec and I get a "too early release" really pissing me off.

Having the SAME exact problem. Sometimes he will hesitate and other times he will have a really smooth and quick release. VERY annoying.

Has anyone gotten their ball handling and ball security attributes high enough to make a difference? Right now at ~75 each I'm getting the ball slapped away from me all the time if I try to drive or pass with any kind of defender anywhere near me. Also complicated plays don't seem to work for my team, after the 1st pass they just pass it back to me, there's only 1 play that works which is getting the SF or SG for a 3 pointer, everything else just doesn't work. When I set screens for my teammates (without calling a play) they very rarely use the screen, they just hold/dribble in place for like 5 seconds, then try to locate the biggest cluster of players and drive into it

Watch the way he catches the ball. I've noticed that if it's a clean catch then I can catch and shoot smoothly.

If he fumbles the ball or takes a step back then that adds an extra split second - second for me to shoot which messes up my rhythm.

Also check your hands stat to make sure that he CAN catch it cleanly

Does the Blue Diamond collection +10 attribute go over caps? I made an Athletic PF and I want to have a more reliable three pointer than 70, but eh I don't know if $20 is worth it. How about the +10 training boost, does that go over caps? Could you potentially do the training boost +10 three pointer, wear the blue diamond +10 and have a 90 three point rating?

It doesn't go over the caps.

I bought the blue diamond (justified it by saying to myself that in years past I've bought the collector's edition so the extra cash is actually me just buying the collector's edition this year).

I also figured that during the course of this year I would probably play multiple my careers....

It doesn't cause your stats to go over the caps, but I must say that it DOES help. I started after my 5th game and saved up 7,000 vc because I didn't need it. Also, I KILLED the rookie showcase since my pg was faster and could shoot better than he could without the blue diamond.

If you're not gonna play multiple my careers then I would say it's not really worth it. But me, this is the only mode I play and I play it year round so it was worth the extra cash to me. Otherwise I would have to grind harder for every player I create and ain't nobody got time for that

I made a Center (drafted by the Jazz), and in my first two games I went in with about 4:30 left in the first. I never came out. Anybody else having this issue? I like to be subbed for occasionally because my Center gets tired over time. I'm not even supposed to see 20 minutes, but I'm seeing over 40? It doesn't make sense to me.

Check to make sure you don't have the "bring your team to within 5 pts" or "bring your team to within 10 points" dynamic goals when you check into the game.

This was a known issue last year and they didn't fix it for this year cause it happened to me already (but I didn't care since it was the first game and I got double the vc and more minutes than I would have in the normal first game)

If your team is down and you get either of those goals then you won't check out until either the game is over or you meet the goals. Whichever comes first.

yeah, ball handling and hands both help to keep the ball.

Just make sure you're not driving or passing with more than one defender on you/in the area...I've noticed that when I drive into a crowd, unlike last year, there's a greater chance for a turnover

which I like cause it forces me to pick my spots and lose a bad habit that I developed from last year

also you have to have space to make that pass. if the defenders are on you then they'll put their hands up and crowd you causing a turnover. again, I kinda like this cause it forces me to see the court and not just make blind passes that I think should be there.

Can't help you with the plays. Mine work fine for me. I play with the bucks as a pg.

First impressions (superstar):

1). The game plays so much better than last year. Even with great abilities you have to work hard to play well.

2). Rebounding is no different than last year. Yes, you can have a monster 20+ rb game, however you can just as easily not come close to touching a rebound for 2 quarters. I gave myself the bruiser/tenacious rebounder sigs and it was the same old bs. Yet, my Sf with 30 rb attribute can average 7 through the first 7 games (with no sigs).

3). Blocking makes the game sooooo much better. Mind you, the higher the level, the more of the 'you jump to block the guard and the computer lets you rise 3" so he can get his shot off over you" crap. On HoF you will get lots of times the game won't let you jump at all or you will be in slow motion until the guy is at the basket. *sigh*

4). The bad teams REALLY suck this year. My center got drafted by the bobcats. OMG they just blow. In 2k13 I made any team I was on at least a good team. This year....you can be great and your team suck suck SUCK. Got drafted by the Wizards next...see comment about teams that suck above.

Despite the few flaws, this IS the best sports game I have EVER played.

Does the game still freeze during the loading screen before a game starts? It happened a lot on PS3 version of 2k13 and it made my career unplayable sometimes.

yes. it's happened to me 5 times already. considering i've only had the game since tuesday, it's stupidly annoying. i'm not sure if it's tied to 2k servers being crap and not responding or what.

I am not able to drive to the basket at all with an Athletic SG with the new defence, the only time i was able to get a clean layup that actually went in was once, and a dunk another time.

All my other points are through free throws(which only half go in because it keeps saying slightly early or late even though its perfect).

The game feels better but this is just too frustrating.

I believe you can change your socks in my career. I mean I remember only checking it one time. Anyway I think I saw it in the gear section but I could be wrong. I did see it though but unfortunately I won't be able to look til next week.
