NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

Me and PHI are on a 7 game skid, about to be 8. Currently getting blown out by almost 30 by MIL smh, my teammates are playing like idiots during this streak. I'm just venting. As you were.
I'll get over it, I had to deal with this in some of my previous 1st seasons in 2K13, and 12. So I'll be fine, just stacking up VC.

Yes,

It applies to current mycareer players as well as newly created ones

But I bought the platinum jewelry for my player, and he didn't get any boost, all he's numbers are the same. Do I have to apply all the accesories? I'm in mid season with him.

Restart the game. As in exit to the dash and then start the game again. It doesn't apply it to your my player if you buying it while playing the game until the next time you start the game. At least that is what has been posted in this topic four or five times.

I'm waiting for this game to get patch, rebounding in particular. Right now I just can't play it. I like to play power forward and center, and I can't average more than four rebounds. That alone kills the game for me. However, I like how my 7'2" center is no longer dominate offensively this year. I just wish I could rebound on defense

I haven't noticed anything wrong with the rebounding in particular. I'm playing as a 6'9 PF with 80 O and D Reb, and averaging 10 a game. Hustle Points is amazing - I lead the league in OREBs with 3.8 a game so far, and I just got Tenacious Rebounder, but no real improvement yet.

I play on All-Star Sim 12 min quarters though.

I'm wondering whether or not to pair Acrobat with Finisher because 90% of my points come off of screen outlet passes with layups and dunks at the rim in traffic; 10% off free throws.

After 30 games, next game is Jan. 1st, my 7' 240lb Center on PHI is finally averaging 10.0rpg.

How much cost attributes this year? Are they increased too just like packs in MyTeam? I think last year you were able to get a real decent player with like 10k vc.

so does anyone know exactly what you need to dunk alley oops? not really looking for random theories, if no one knows I guess i'll just have to remake my guy. here are my stats

6'7 All Around SF
80 dunk
80 hands
80 vertical

can't trigger a dunk animation on alley oops. been having this problem every year since 2k12.

It's pretty much the same as last year, but most if the caps are lower.

Just finished my first year with the Thunder. Lost in the western conference finals to the Clippers in game seven. Did not win rookie of the year. But was runner up.

Knowing they would take the option on my rookie contract, and not really wanting to play for them any longer due to issues with the AI for Durant, Westbrook and Lamb, I asked to be traded. And by AI issues I mean Durant and Westbrook disappeared. Lamb was running point, and shooing 70% of the teams shots. He never passed once the ball was in his hands. He also averaged 6.4 turnovers a game. From walking out of bounds. Meanwhile Durant and Westbrook just stood around. And if Westbrook ever had the ball in his hands, it was 50/50 on him throwing an alley-oop to Ilbaka. So I wanted out of that hot mess.

Top three teams looking at me, Raptors, Blazers and Jazz. I figure okay, I'll just pick those three and see what happens. Sim to next key game, get the GM sit down. Traded to the 76ers along with a first round pick for Nerlens Noel and Evan Turner. And I think they got ripped off.

And boy does our team suck. Not sure what happened in Philly in the offseason but man. This is gonna be rough. Michael Carter-Williams, Jason Richardson and Tony Wroten are the only left from the prior season worth mentioning. They also picked up Paul Peirce in the off-season.

Starting the my first game with them tomorrow already 1-4. Probably going to tank and ask to have some dudes traded way. Like Pierce and Richardson. Those dudes gots to go.

I had to restart my PG career. I stupidly saved over the wrong file to back-up my Center. As a result, my new PG was drafted by the Pelicans instead of the Timberwolves. I played 5 games there, asked for a trade to the Wolves or Lakers and got traded to the Miami Heat straight up for R. Lewis.

My Center got drafted by OKC and is really flourishing with everyone there. My experience with Lamb is that he is a streaky shooter and so far both Westbrook and KD are performing well.

I wish 2k would implement a "Kobe" rule where you can declare before the draft that you wanted to play for a specific team and then you can have a realistic chance of starting a career with the team of your choice. ...

It looks like I'll be gaming the system to get to the Lakers or waiting for a roster editor. I do not like either option but as a Laker fan, I'd like to be a part of Kobe's and Gasol's twilight at the start and not be forced to wait until my rookie contract is up because the trade ai is not capable of structuring a deal.

Once I get my 2 "real" careers going, I'll create a fun career to try to game the trade logic into a Laker's start. Most likely will need to go 28-30th in the draft as it has been the case since 2k12.

made a new player, 6'6 athletic SG. could dunk alley oops before doing anything with his stats. raised his 3 pt by 10 points and now he can't dunk oops anymore. 2k... wtf?

raised his dunk to 90 and bought posterizer, still can't dunk alley oops. I'm so pissed off, I don't even know what to say. my guy has the little dunk symbol under him but for some reason 2k deems him not worthy of jumping more the 10 inches in the air when an alley is thrown to him, 85 vertical and he can't even touch rim because it won't give me the animation.

I just created myself a 7 foot center (tired of playing G's) and got drafted by OKC. I don't know my stat points but I haven't raised any (only played the legends training camps), and I grab more than 5 rebs a game (played 6 games) so I think it's not really a game issue.

Since you finished your first season, can you answer this question?

Did your attribute caps increase?

I'm hoping they go up like you improved in the offseason

cause being a pg capped at 92 speed just ain't getting it when I want my guy to be one of the fastest in the league

I'm 31 games into my Athletic Power Forward's Career with the Celtics, and we're 24-7. I stunk up the showcase cause I jumped right into My Career as soon as I got the game last week, but it was a blessing dropping so far in the draft because pairing up with Rondo is great. I've maxed out my speed, quickness, both dunks, hands, mid range, defensive rebounding, blocks and post moves so far while grabbing the Gatorade Prime Pack and Finisher signature skills. I've also gotten a few of the dunk packages.

The only problem? I never dunk. I always lay it up, as Finisher never seems to activate. The couple of alley lobs I've successfully caught I finished with a layup. I'll post up and roll by my man with a clear lane only to finish with a weak lay up instead of the baseline dunk I purchased and equipped. To be fair, getting an open lane to the rim is much harder this year, especially as a PF it seems, so I haven't had that many opportunities, but it's pretty depressing. I still get mine by being a young Zach Randolph on the offensive boards and posting up, but I went with an athletic PF this year hoping to get a nice dunk or two, and you'd think a successful alley dunk here and there wouldn't be out of the question either with Rondo throwing them.

I know this has been mostly negative, but I am still managing to enjoy the mode. I've played all 31 games, and I love being a defensive force, and gobbling up rebounds is always fun. I'm on pace for making the All Star team as a rookie, too, which is exciting.
