I might change my camera view to Turbo. 2k view is good but i can't really see in front of my defender that well and get potential steals.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I have a PG and was drafted by the Trail Blazers.
What I don't like is that if I only want to play key games, the game can simulate over a month without me playing a game. It's poorly designed and should be fixed.
Instead of them deciding who the rivals are, we should decide what games we play. It makes ZERO sense in the decision they made. I seriously think that playing My Career in 2k13, the scheduling was much better.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
They need to fix boxing out and rebounding. I played the Bulls and GSW. 75% of "box outs" that I did resulted in them getting the rebound by jumping over me or sliding round me. Or at least allow us to fight around/over box outs as well. I haven't seen an over the back called on the CPU yetComment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Less than 22 games left in the regular season as a PF on the Jazz on 12min All-star Sim, and I'm dominating (as expected lol).
I'm averaging 33.2 points, 14.8 rebounds, 1 steal, 3.3 blocks, and 2.8 assists a game on 69.9% FG and 83% FT.
I lead the league in points, blocks, field goal %, and rebounds, and am pretty much a lock for MVP, ROY, and DPOY.
Going to up the difficulty next season, and play mostly key games for the next two seasons until I'm a free agent though. I'm leaning toward the Celtics, I think if Rondo, Green, and Olynyk stay put, I can slide in at the PF and do some damage. Then trade for an adequate SG.Comment

Teammates makes too many bone headed mistakes, while the AI is capable of doing the craziest and nastiest things on the court. Doesn't even have to be a good player.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
So 2K screwed me over and my SG save file got wiped *sigh* I can thankfully say its only the first time that it has happened to me. So I then decided to start a new save as a bigman because I had seen some YT videos and people posting in here about it and it looked like something fun to do. I does take alot of getting used to though I'm still off with timing my jumps for rebounds and once I get a decent mid range game and improve other attributes I think it will be alot more fun.
I went with a 6'11 athletic Center (was tempting having more speed than Dwight Howard :P) and finished the showcase with 12 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 5 blocks (made Len my bitch) and got interviewed by Minnesota, New Orleans and OKC and went to Minnesota which should be interesting as they already have Pek but it should be fun to play with Love and Rubio. My only beef so far is that I can only max my rebounds out at 90, it might just be me playstyle but I don't know.
Anyone who plays C/PF got any tips?Last edited by Liam_93; 10-27-2013, 07:06 PM.Bulls | Cubs l BlackhawksComment

I have a 6'9 Athletic PF on the Jazz, and haven't maxed out my rebounds yet (82 OReb and DReb), but I average 4.6 Orebs and 14.8 total rebounds.
It depends on the type of PF/C you want to be, either a high-post, pick and pop/roll, or banger in the low-post battling for put-backs and things of that nature. Rebounds can be tricky, as there will be a lot of them that you lose to canned animations with them either bouncing off your head, back, or just a bit out of reach for you to grab. There will even be a few times where you timed your jump wrong and missed a rebound that was meant for you lol. The most important tip on rebounding is position and boxing out.
When the shot goes up, head straight to the paint, hold LT to box out, and never give up on a play. Hustle Points and Tenacious Rebounder are excellent sigs to get for this. I rarely pull up for the J, and I convert even less even though my Mid-range is maxed at 80 with a respectable shoot in traffic rating. Just can't get it down for me.
The biggest tip on getting your points is to get a go to move in the low post. I love setting screens for a roll to the rim, but when the game slows down, and the offense is bogged, call for it in the post and make a play. There are so many options here it's crazy. You can hit them with the fadeaway, faceup J (if you're good at it), attack their outside foot for a rim shot, a foul, or a pass to the open shooter/cutter. I rely on my athleticism a lot with a quick spin to the hole and lay up or dunk.
I utilize the jump hook on smaller defenders.
Defensive Anchor is a must, in my opinion. Especially because I play a lot of minutes and can't afford to sprint back on defense every single play, so my teammates need to hold their own. And it helps a bit with our perimeter defenders with the 3 ball.
As far as blocking shots, I get 90% of mine when the offensive player breaks down his man and goes to the rim and I'm rotating for help defense. 5% come off of 1v1 in the low post, 3% on defending the pick and pop game, and 2% on defending the perimeter.
Once you're a starter, you'll get a lot of garbage rebounds at the end of the game. I usually come into the 4th with 10+ rebounds and get about 3-7 depending on my aggressiveness.
My play style is a mixture between Ben Wallace's defense, Shaq's paint dominance, and Hakeem's post smoothness. If I'm in close to the basket, I'm dunking it, if I'm on the high to low block, I can hit them with the fadeaway, spin, fake, hook, however they want it lol.
My sig skills:
Hustle Points - It's a no brainer. My PF is always battling for ORebs and I need to be able to go up quickly after I get the ball.
Tenacious Rebounder - Well, it's pretty self-explanatory.
Finisher - My hot spots are directly under the basket and the left block, so every shot I take has contact and is being contested and this helps on And 1s.
Defensive Anchor - Anything to help your players play better defense is great.
Post Proficiency - Need to be able to produce late in games when the PnR isn't available.
The biggest tip though, upgrade your free throw immediately. I was getting hacked going up for a shot constantly and only converted 16% of my shots at the line for a few games. Once I upgraded my free throw, I was getting so many extra points it was crazy.
Increase your hustle, defensive awareness, hands, ball security, vertical, shot in traffic, strength, and that's about it.
Play on Simulation, so that you can get the ball more often when you first start.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I wonder if the game takes account what type of player you make.
If u pick a specific style does it change the way your cpu teammates play.
Playing as SF athletic Force to become next LEBRON. in order to win games.
Playing on HOF is impossible with suspect AI cpu.
Is any one else team chemistry on Home screen still showing 1-10% instead of 1-100%
Come to conclusion for tired of losing option ur local fan support have to be over 75% minimum I guess.
5 yrs. 2 All star selections. Selected to Dunk Contest in yr 5. Did I mention i was on like 7 teams early in career. 1st round bust.
Hate playing on teams that have talent yet due to AI they play booty backwards. So now have to play Hero Ball EVERYGAME majority of time.
CPu trading everyone besides weak GM on my team when I ask
Currently on Magic after I demanded trade off Celtics after yr 2 of 5 yr contract.
Rondo and Bradely are great defenders but they were getting abuse to often along with inconsistent scoring from them.
My two big men down low would constantly get bully below in paint. no defense and little offense it was horrible. Sulligner
By trading me they got rid of Jeff Green and CAP SG who wanted out. Green went to Lakers while CAP SG came with me to Orlando for Magic SG who they drafted and SF evan turner. if we make 8th seed i'll be happy.
Oh YEAH KOBE BEAN BRYANT REFUSES to RETIRE. Right now he is on Bobcats with LEbron and Kemba Walker along with most of current roster.
Im show out in All star game and Dunk Contest hopefully that get my Fan support up there so when I request for trade of players it actually goes through.Comment

As for playstyle I've always liked the Centers that bang down low and hustle for rebounds and points but I also like Centers like Hakeem who had a silky post game so I'm going to try and mix it up between them.
My first two games were both W's against the Magic and Thunder and as for performances I was letting my match-ups get too many off rebs and when I was boxing out they were often getting in front of me but that might be because my strength is like a 72.
What rating is your guy?Bulls | Cubs l BlackhawksComment

Thanks this really helped alot. I spent most of the VC I had on attributes and I haven't bought any sig skills as of yet but I can see what ones help from your post.

There will be a few matchups where rebounds will be hard to come by; I hate playing against Kenneth Faried, dude is insane on the boards.
Tenacious Rebounder, hustle, and strength help with boxing your man out on DReb and when the shot goes up on OReb.
SP/VC should be super easy to get as I routinely finish a game with 4-700 depending on the social media challenge. I always get an A+. Set those screens!Comment
