Lol, nope. It kinda sucks; I scored 19 points and I had 9 rebounds with 11 assists as a point forward SF and I got drafted 9th to the 'Wolves. IIRC, assists, points then rebounds rose my draft stock but it didn't seem like it mattered too much. I outplayed Bennett, Oladipo, MCW and everyone and still went lower than they did.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Welcome to the wacky world of 2k arcade basketball. There is no slowly building your career in this game as you will quickly be pushed into the starting position and be playing maximum minutes. Also, expect that current star players on your team to start playing like D-League role players, so its up to you to score lots of points and lead the offense for a chance at wining.
Good Luck
I wonder if I play on higher skill level, will this be the same thing? By the way, im playing in AS/Sim.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
thanks for the info...somehow this concerns me...the realistic factor in this mode. i could understand if you are drafted by a crappy team or injuries. But to be drafted by great teams such as Spurs, you expect to play minimal minutes as compared to their star players.

Very hard time FORCING the game to be close. Without the sig, very close games. With it, I am blowing out teams (SS level...ready to go HoF).Comment

On a side note, I have a big big problem with overtime- namely, because I've had my 40 mins in the regular time the coach decides to leave me on the bench for the entire overtime. Happened to me twice, once I started the OT on the bench and got skipped directly to the end game buzzer, 2nd time I again started OT on the bench and was subbed in 14 secs before the end of the game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
With a line-score of: 20pts, 6assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals a B+ got me interviewed by Detroit(8), Phoenix(5), and Minnesota(9). An A- with 25 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals got me started with New Orleans (6), Washington (3), and Sacramento (7 iirc).
Position used to influence it in years past but this year position does not seem to matter as much if at all.
I put my Celtic career on hold and redid my Minnesota PG. I had a monster 1st game and even triggered a response from Steve Kerr I never heard before where he said something like: " We see why he is named Insanity with plays like that. That play was simply amazing." I stole an inbound pass after a basket and immediately went up for an under the basket hanging dunk.
It was more luck than anything because I was just released from one of those stupid animations where your stuck on the floor and I guess I hit the stick just perfect to first intercept the ball then the stick for the shot.
Hearing Kerr say that was one of this year's highlights for sure.Comment

Or does this game require you to go 20+ points 5+ rebounds 5+ assists to be considered for top 10 no matter the output of everyone else....
Anyways on the Bucks I am frustrated with a player called Ishmael Smith(who is actually on the sun's but I didn't change him before I started as I only did major movements) He is the only true PG on the roster as it's me, O.J, and Knight clogging SG. I seem to get played less in favor of smith wheneverhe is on the court and never gives me the ball, but continually drives to the hoop, getting blocked, turning it over, or kicking to a big man. He is averagin 14 ppg and 8assists on 48% shooting total, but in games I play he is 8.7 ppg 6.9 assists on 39% shooting with 4 to a game.
Myself I am totaling 7.6 ppg 1.5 reb .8 a in 16 minutes simmed, when I play I go 13.4 points 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists averaging 17 minutes.
Already talked to the GM about how he is holding me back(he's only 71), but he said I have to wait it out....
Currently the worst team at 13-33.... having only played 5(I accidently hit play next key game missing 15 games :/(giving up 107.5 ppg!!)
Also is there a way to add secondary position as I can't find it and with only 1 pg on the team and Knight injured it leaves Smith and Mayo as I've only gotten 4 minutes at point guard in 2 stints doing decent in that time.Comment

The biggest determiner for the draft is teammate grade.

I love the commentary in this game; they comment on my players go-to dunk package, they have cool things to say about my nickname "Money", my sig skills etc each game.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
He is spot on. You end up having to play hero ball in order to compete. I remember getting (PF) 50+ points, 27 rbs, blocks, steals..you name it...and losing by 5. My bench missed all of their 15-20 shots. It was stupid. The only way I have found to counter this is to get your team chemistry up and get the on court coach sig (point forward and pg get for free, 10k for everyone else). With that sig you can order your perimeter defenders to play close to the shooters. You don't have to worry about the other team shooting 23-41 on 3pt shots. Most teams get less than 15 attempts (mostly when I am not in the game to call the defense) the whole game. Without the 3pt cheese the computer has a

I hope this issue though will be addressed in NG...but who knows.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
wat is difference between default and sim again.
Ever since i put it on default SS i can get leads and keep them. Whatever runs CPU try to make i can counter attack it better.
Default it is until otherwise.
4 game win streak lets Record 13-18 year 7.
Need to make playoffs all that matter.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Went #1 as an all around SF!! I was super excited about it & I was interviewed by the top 3 picks which was even more exciting lol. I really did NOT expect to get interviewed by the top 3 picks because I had an A- grade. I had an A but lost because of stupid teammates, so anyway, I didn't get to remember my stat line or take a picture of it because of my excitement of course but I believe it was: 40 pts, 2 ast, 10+ reb, 2-3 blk, 4 stl, 2-3 tos. That's just off the top but I think the points did it for me which it did say points were the area it'll boost me. I wanted to go 1 or 2 didn't want to go 3 because I wanted to play with Kyrie or FINALLY take the Magic to the promised land. I know Wall is awesome & all but Cavs didn't have the 3 position secured & if I went to Magic I wouldn't have mind doing everything. Anyway, I still can't believe I went #1 because I never expected & I hope we can do something great here but I don't think we will contend in the playoffs. I wonder what's going to happen in the offseason, who knows, maybe the cover athlete might come home.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
This game is funny ya know. The coach logic is just messed up. They've got me closing out games with the scrubs during garbage time in a blowout. But, during crunch time in a close game against the Heat this silly *** coach puts my player on the bench. This was probably the best game I've played too. I carried the team in the 4th, brought us back and took the lead. Even completed the in game goal to take over and score the next 10 points for the team. Took a 1 point lead with 2:00 mins left and then got benched for Isiah Thomas lol.
The funniest thing is that Isiah hit the game winning 3 as time expired with my player looking on from the bench. Maybe the coach isn't such an idiot afterall.
But for real I beasted in this game, Mario Chalmers can't handle me.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
WOW...usually I'm lenient on 2K for bugs and glitches that get left but seriously?
Just finished the dunk contest...and what happens when I do? I press play next game for the All Star game and it sims my entire season. They fixed this last year but it finds it's way back in again? That's ridiculous.
Now I lost the second half of my season and probably missed out on the Playoffs.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
Anyone else on the Kings? I'm a PG on the Kings and I have to say Demarcus Cousins is *** on this game. It's like his only job is to make sure the team loses. He doesn't rebound, he doesn't score, he doesn't defend. All he does is foul, miss bunnies and get his shot blocked. I can't do it by myself, Demarcus! /rantLast edited by Goldin Brown; 11-06-2013, 04:13 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
OK whoever thought it would be funny to give a 10% chance or whatever for MyPlayer to get injured in the 1st year was a 'genius'...Listen to this: Key game vs. Celtics, I get a social challenge to score 30 pts (awards 300 VC I think), I get 3 Dynamic goals by the middle of the 3rd quarter and get all 3 (one was the mini-quadruple-double which can be hard as hell to get as a PG), 26pts with 8 mins remaining in Q3, we lead by 25, I'm well on my way to get Player of the game AND social challenge (300 x 2 for key game = 600) and of course at this glorious moment I get injured and subbed out for the rest of the game, which it turns out later is a day-to-day injury (I choose "play through"); at first they put me as Bench Warmer (0 mins) then I was in the starting lineup with FOURTY ONE minutes (with injury) as a SMALL FORWARD (6"4)
Long story short- in the future, let us choose the frequency of injuries for MyPlayer in MyCareer or simply turn them on or off. Everyone will be happy.Comment
