Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

Going to start my 6'6" 230lb All-Around SG now that I won the championship with my C. I have 200K+ VC to start off with, so I should be killing straight away. I don't what team I want to play on, but I do know what teams I don't want to play on. I don't like taking 1st or 2nd option player's places. Well unless they're a horrible 2nd option. I always end up being the 1st option anyway.

When I'am subbed in at shooting guard (I am a very small point guard, and I've been subbed at PF twice, and once again Tim Duncan ; Great coaching) the point guard doesn't run any plays and just stand there. Every time I give the ball to Kanter in the post he thinks he's KG and does some ridiculous turnarounds.

I don't know how 2K gets a pass for all this and how is this mode so popular.

This is why I love playing with the 'Wolves. Budinger and Brewer make great backups, at SF/SG which allowed me to use my saved vc(80k) and make my SF a top 10/ROY worthy rookie(83), and not take star attention away from Love. Brewer and Budinger seem like more of backup/spot start type guys.

Is it just me or is mycareer to difficult? My player is doing really well... Putting up a 21 ppg average, getting steals, assists, etc. the problem isnt with him its with my horrible team. Theyre dead last in the leauge. My bigs cant even make a simple layup then the opponent storms down the court and drains 3s like crazy! I mean were getting blown out every game! Will things change as time goes on or will it always be this frustrating???

Found a new release, hoping it somehow helps me make more of the wide open ones.

I stopped taking 3-4 a game because of how many I would miss.

It's frustrating, because I am so selective, and because my three point rating is so high that I constantly brick my shots. I know 40% is realistically high, but my % is declining recently down to 38% or so.

Even when I go into shoot around mode, I find myself making 1 out of every 4 or 5 three pointers... how does a 94 rated three point shooter with maxed consistency shoot so poorly in a wide open gym?

Even more annoying is that I have NEVER made more than 2 threes in a row. It's impossible for me to get "hot" from three. If I put up that third one, I know it's going to miss. Making two in a row is a shock for the best player in the league (and leading scorer).

I can manage just fine without threes (which I have learned to do taking about 1 a game despite my rating)

but I'd like to know that when I am wide open with a perfect release that it won't clank off the side of the rim more often than not.

I also have Gatorade Sig Skill, as well as Deadeye so it isn't a stamina issue. I don't even know why I have deadeye equipped because I only shoot wide open shots, lol.

I'm not complaining, but I didn't have these problems in 2k11, 12, or 13. I could count on my shots going in when I was open (maybe a bit too often).

Maybe it is because I am playing on HOF/Sim.. but CPU Chauncey Billups had no issue making 4 threes in a row my last game against Detroit.
Well damn, if you truly only take one wide ope three a game I'd suggest replacing deadeye with microwave and build yourself up from the inside. Also, I'd suggest going into shootaround and find your hot and cold zones; I was money from the right wing for about 20 games at one point, then I clanked everything I threw up from there, only to find out in shootaround that my hotspot was now a cold spot.

Started a 6'9" SG, did ok in the showcase game and got drafted by the Bulls. Perfect landing place. Cracked the rotation about 15 games into the season. This mode takes up virtually all of my 2K gaming time.

Round 2 year 8 of playoffs with 76ers.

Averaging 38 pts 11 boards and 7 assist so far.

Even though I have Kyle Irving and Noel i have to take over at times b/c Irving takes to damn long to set up plays or doesn't do nothing at all. Gets abuse by other cpus at time even though he is rated higher. However its not every game so I can accept it. If i just give him room and time to work he will put up points and play according to a top 10 player he is in the game in year 8.

Noel just have to give him the ball down low he gets busy. I don't even have to worry about him besides being tired from playing heavy minutes b/c we have ton of back court but no front court depth. So Starters 3-5 Myself included play heavy minutes.

As long every one do their job and move around score some points i'm good but if u don't score better defend and rebound.

Playing every game to unlock achievement once I win NBA Final this year.

Currently playing against the bucks with James Harden an generated SF and Jonas from Toronto they still have some of real life players on the team with rest being cpu generated over 8 year span.

I don't like how they letting this guy at SF who can't score play like Harden yet Harden is playing like a guy who is trash.

Either way once I'm done with this Player in few years take a break and i'm playing with custom roster can't 2k roster set again.

Do your teammates play better on HOF? I see the dudes on Youtube play on that and their guys will always shoot straight off the pass. I can't hit Cousins in the paint without him messing up.

My problem is that I literally cannot make a single jumper. All of my points have come in the paint. With by mid range, 3 point, and consistency I thought I'd be able to actually shoot. I doubt it's my release and shot since I've been using the same one's since 2k12 (9 and 7).

It gets better as your team chemistry increases (which requires your team to be winning games...yeah) just don't blame the team when they ask you after the game, try to suck up to them to get that chemistry % up, it really makes a difference. Also if you're a PG or have the on-court coach skill, you can command the defense. For example if you're playing vs a good 3pt shooting team tell teammates to "pressure shooters" otherwise set it on "constant pressure". If you lead by a lot, leave it at default. Play the passing lanes to get cheesy steals for a bunch of fast break points if you feel like cheating in hard games.

Have you tried playing around with the release timing(quick, normal and late)? I've been using the same shot type that I had been using before as well and I was missing jumper after jumper until I changed the release timing my shooting percentage went up from 43% on mostly mid range jumper, now I'm at 61% with an interchangeable combo of mid range and attacking the basket. Also, as I suggested to another poster, check your cold/hot zones in shootaround, my hotspots are the right and left wing and the right baseline.
