Like I said in another thread....enjoy the game now since the most vocal are the cry baby online gamers....if they play to win (tournaments) and they can't score as easy like they used to then you can forget about defense being effective after the patch...

This could all be avoided if 2k only gave us lobbies.....

Essentially, defense was the selling point of the game for 2K this year, and I honestly believe in LD2K when he said this is here to stay.

I just watched ipodkingcarter's review of 2k14...and i can say the mission has been accomplished for the sim community. He gave the game a 7.4 and complained about turnovers and the live ball physics among other things.

LD2K please dont listen to this guy. I know you are boys with all the teamup members and all, but please believe me when i say this game is BEAUTIFUL the way it is now. Is it perfect? No. Some things can be tightened up but please do not make any drastic changes or make the gameplay easier. It is 9.8 now in my book

Dont let these youtube guys ruin your game. They play on youtube to please the casuals with the casual style of gameplay. U have the whole of OS supporting you. Dont let the devs change anything about this game.

Man I like the gameplay but everyone has their own opinion . I mean it can have a lil tweaks but loose balls ? People in real life just don't explode after the ball after losing it momentum plays into it all depends on your offensive and defensive awareness .

Ipod is wrong.At 5:55 that's horrible defense.He has three guys defending the same player on the entry pass.He calls it "phantom double team"@ 3:50. He dribbled into it and didn't protect the ball, and also should have passed to the guy spotted up right next to him.He also should have posted up at 4:17 instead of trying another dribble move.

LD2K. I am not the "Simmest" guy in the world. I love basketball, I like moving the ball to the open man, and playing good hard defense. There's maybe a few lay up instances I feel should be tweaked(A 6'11 Power Forward practically dropping the ball into the hoop shouldn't be as affected when making contact with a 5'11 point guard), but they are minor negligible things that don't stop me from enjoying this game.

This game is GRITTY. And I mean that in the best way possible. I play mostly blacktop, and it's no longer the rain of Euro 3s. You can no longer just "Blow" by a good defender. There is no such thing as an "easy" bucket against a good team. The game punishes you for doing stupid things, such as over dribbling, trying to shoot on 3 guys, not passing the ball around as it should. It rewards you for good ball movement, defensive/offensive awareness, and generally smart play. I LOVE THE WAY ONLINE IS SET UP. PLEASE DON'T CRACK AND CHANGE THE CORE OF THIS.

I LOVE Watching kids get frustrated when none of the 2k13 tactics work(although if you are with randoms, you can get quite frustrated yourself). I like watching the same SG Brick 5 three's because he thinks he can shoot in my face, then storm the rim only to have the Lebron/Splitter block look like little girls frolicking in daisies after I get through with him. I Love watching them rage quit because they have no concept of basketball. There are no fundamentals in place, because they're used to playing as a super human basketball player who can do whatever they want, and they slam their head repeatedly into a brick wall assuming the mortar will give before the bone marrow.

Essentially: TL;DR-I LOVE HOW THIS GAME PLAYS. Rewards good basketball, punishes bad basketball. It's unforgiving, but unforgiving in the right way.

I haven't played 2K14 yet. Interesting enough though, I was listening to the radio this morning before I came to work, and usually the radio pesonality dj gives hiphop news, dvd release news and videogame release news. So he talked alittle about NBA2K14 and someone asked him how is the game. He responded on air to all the listeners by saying - oh the game sucks, its not good this year, its too hard to score, its too hard to drive in and dunk, the defense is not realistic, don't buy it. I was like wow, this sounds like I will like 2K14 then, because this guy didn't seem to be a SIM basketball game fan by saying this type of stuff/complaints about the game. I was just surprised he said that to all the listeners of don't buy the game, it sucks this year, because he couldn't dunk on 3 and 4 guys at will or score whenever he wanted. Sounds like I will like NBA2K14 when I get it.

LOVE when I hear guys talk like this. I was playing a buddy of mine who used to be able to beat me in 2K13 using the same cheeser nonsense that you see online. This year, Iv'e been DOMINATING him because of the improved defense. So much so that he refused to play me again because he was tired of losing.

It's beautiful what they've done this year going back to their sim roots. Honestly though, I hope NBA Live is doing the same thing, going the full sim route. Will teach these kids and cheesers to learn a thing or two about basketball, I love it.

I'll say this through roughly about 5 games played I've had 3 dunks. When I got them I celebrated because I don't know when the next one's coming. I simply love my drive and kick options for the 15-20 ft jumper
