I'm not big on accessories I never really pay attention to that stuff . BUT I can tell u from rosters on here it adds a LOT. Makes certain players stand out more to.

people care. thats why there's a thread about it. just as there is a site full of people who care about sports gaming accuracy when there are many that argue that we are annoying by wanting the rosters to be accurate.
if you genuinely don't care... please do a better job of it by NOT posting about how you "don't care".
seanbarkley's work just as many other's on this site are VERY appreciative of their extreme detail to "minor" specifics.
trust that you have friends that make this:
same staement about you & your desire to have ratings accuracy or whatever YOUR specific gripe is.
respect other people's desires... #carryon
*edit & maybe 2k would get it right IF they had a better "fashion designer"...Last edited by ronyell; 10-01-2013, 07:19 PM.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
As King_B_Mack mentioned, the build from the trailer was confirmed to be old. I understand that by no means suggests the accessories on the newer builds are done correctly, but at least there's a small touch of hope, yes?
Just for the sake of general curiosity, I'd be interested in hearing once and for all what technical difficulties are behind 2K's real deal, life-long struggles with correct accessory colors. It honestly feels as if it's gone well beyond being merely overlooked. I've figured there must be some sort of Jenga-like code that's just stacked on top of itself, where even the tiniest alteration (giving OKC black road accessories) would result in the entire game collapsing in upon itself. But then, if it were a technical issue, I'd have to wonder why common hex editing gamers seem to so easily be able to fix the accessory colors themselves (before 2K shuts them down).
For me, accessories are a part of the experience. Gameplay is fun, but I have no qualms with admitting I'm drawn to artistic appearance and authentic visual re-creation. I think the art factor is why so many folks are enthralled with what they've seen of the next generation thus far. Even a lot of "All I need is good gameplay" guys were falling over themselves after that quick, virtually gameplay-less, beauty trailer yesterday.
With that in mind, I think accessories are things that could be seen as small details... if they were done correctly. When they're not done correctly, they can create an immediate hiccup in immersion for a lot of folks.
That said, I understand how many could overlook this aspect. For instance, I know I can play NHL video games and not notice a lot of the missing or mis-represented details many hardcore gamers mention (tucked jerseys, incorrect stick labels, defunct helmets). I like the NHL, but not enough to notice all that stuff. On the flip side, I like the NBA, and I like it enough to be familiar with all of those details, so when they're wrong, they tend to stick out like a sore thumb.
It just feels a little silly - authentic jerseys, incredible cyber faces, an army of official shoes and yet, there still hasn't been a way for 2K to find out how to fix something so small yet so noticeable? It's like Forza creating a picture-perfect red Ferrari and giving it sky blue side mirrors.Last edited by VDusen04; 10-01-2013, 07:21 PM.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
Saw the Next Gen teaser trailer. Everything looks amazing, except the uniforms and accessories. My only question is: how can 2K spend so much time and effort making the players look so accurate, yet 2K can't even get the correct sock color on Thunder unis, or arm sleeve colors, or knee sleeve length on the players?
Example of 2K next gen Durant and other Thunder players in away unis:
Notice the white socks (should be black), and a white arm sleeve on another player (should be black).
Example of what Durant looks like in real like in away unis:
I know this isn't a big deal to most players, but I find it really annoying that 2K can't get the little details right, even on next gen hardware. There are so many awesome roster makers out there that make rosters with accurate ratings, unis, accessories, animations, etc..., it just amazes me that 2K can't even get socks right.Last edited by rockchisler; 10-01-2013, 08:48 PM.chuckcross.bandcamp.com

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
Again, the simplicity required for knowing the correct colors and schemes makes me wonder if there isn't something bigger behind the inability to get these things right. I just don't know what'd be standing in the way. I suppose we'll just have to hope that whatever the issue was, the next generation will resolve it.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
They don't have to know every color scheme. They just need to know the basic home and away (white for home, black for away) schemes. Pretty much every player/team in the league is the same.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
The fact that you don't care doesn't mean no one else should. I wouldn't bat an eyelash if every shoe in the game was generic white or black with no designs, but sneakerheads on this site would go absolutely insane. But I don't go into sneaker threads and saying things like "Who cares?"Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
They just need to come up with a system that enables them/us to edit it for every team according to real life color schemes. Once it's created, they should be able to use it every year. It's not something that's supposed to be created every year.My Specs:

You're complaining because they got the sock color wrong!?!?!??! If that's all you have to complain about, then 2K is doing a great job.
Also, why is KD wearing white socks in this pic if he only wears black socks? KD is allowed to wear white or black socks fyi.

Haha nice try mate but the thunder wear white accessories for their alternate jersey so you are wrong there! Hence why kd has white knee pads, white socks, and white shoes there.NBA 2k15 MyTeam (PS4)

Moreso the fact that he's at home in that picture. If it were on the road, he'd probably be wearing black.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
At the very least, there's zero reason you shouldn't be able to edit the accessories and save them for home/away. And have sock color an actual edit, which they never do. Only have white socks. It's unacceptable at this point IMO.Comment

Re: Even on Next Gen, 2K still can't get accessories right.
I agree, I know its not a massive deal but for me its nothing about fashion or anything I just want it to look and feel like as close to a real nba game as possible. I wish someone from 2k would just come out and say we can't do it for some particular reason, I would be fine with that but every year there are the same complaints about accessories and they don't even touch on it at all. I thought the least they could have done was get LeBron right as he is the cover athlete.Comment
