NBA 2K14 Next Gen Accessories >>WISHES<<

This is suggestions people, not news.

NBA 2k's accessories are lackluster. Every team in the NBA has a starter that wears equipment that you can't wear in 2k. It makes the game harder to enjoy and less realistic.

Half way down tights
Most frequent equipment in the NBA is the tights that go half way down.
Stars such as:
Kevin Durant
Russell Westbrook
Chandler Parsons
Jeremy Lin
Paul George
Dwayne Wade

wear these every game.

For some reason, 2k feels that simple knee braces and sleeves are close. No they are not!

Derrick Rose's Adidas calf sleeves and ankle braces
One of Derrick Roses most recognizable things is his leg sleeves and ankle braces by Adidas.

The biggest WTF about this is that they HAVE THIS AVAILABLE TO YOU IN THE VC ACCESSORY STORE, YET REFUSE TO PUT IT ON AN ACTUAL PLAYER WHO WEARS IT...

vvv Heres a modded version of 2k12(?). They have actually gotten farther away from getting it correct

Ability to adjust shorts length & jersey tightness
I know you can play as the old timers and get the short shorts, but we need a slight shorts length changer. Not everyone has the exact same length

As for jersey length... Im afraid after seeing the previews that the jerseys will all be tight. It's a good thing, dont get me wrong. For the most part... Lebrons tight jersey in next gen looks great. But Kobe needs to have a bigger jersey. Its basically his trade mark.

PLEASE suggest more. thanks

Not locking players to a specific shoe brands would be nice, especially when it's wrong. Getting the correct sock color is another issue I hope is corrected.

I don't want to start anything, and I understand everyone prefers a certain aspect of 2k, but am I the only one who has never payed the slightest bit of attention to what accessories a player is wearing?

Not sure how people do this. Style is such a huge thing in basketball now, so having accessories right is a must for me.

I'm so excited to see the different lighting and player models for next gen. I'm sure the accessories will be top notch for NG, I hope.

Both versions of the leg sleeve, with a hex pad and without, are in the game. They just have them both wrong as far as length is concerned. They both reach down to the top of the shoe which also causes the socks to disappear. We should be able to layer all accesories in 2K14, while they also need to add face masks and goggles/visors as options for CAPs.

This thread made by Angel G has a lot great suggestions that could be carried over to next-gen NBA 2K14 or 2K15:

I would love to see ALL of the Nike Basketball Accessories in next gen, I mean it appears 2K is all about Nike and Jordan brand anyway so why not have all of their accessories as well. For example, we choose Nike and yet we are wearing the Nike shoes but either Adidas or generic accessories.

I'd like the ability to add or remove various forms of goggles. I understand this may be difficult to pull off with included players, but it'd be nice if it were at least a created player option. I'd also like the ability to give players upper bicep bands, for the sake of classic team creation.

I don't notice small accessory details in other professional sports games but I tend to notice with NBA games. I'm guessing it's largely because basketball is my primary sport. It might sound crazy, but the game feels much more authentic to me after I'm able to edit a roster that in part features realistic shoes, accessories and accessory colors.

Doubt that would ever happen since adidas is the official apparel company of the association and not Nike. They probably wouldn't appreciate - meaning lawyers getting involved - Nike equipment in an officially licensed NBA title.

I must agree, however, you would think we would be able to get sponsored by Adidas. Also, for Nike and Jordan to even be in the game they must have a contract with 2K and the NBA, same for Under Armour etc.

Sadly, that look may never be able to be replicated again until the rule stating players can't wear bands above their elbows is rescinded. ****ing David Stern has made it harder to recreate prime Ben Wallace and a younger, more athletic Kobe Bryant.

Yes yes, I am quite aware. And I understand 2K is merely attempting to stay up to date on NBA rules. It'd be nice to have that freedom though, similar to how we're able to give guys retired player's jersey numbers if we really want.

Why was it a big deal anyway with the Bicep bands

As for my list:
-Googles LIKE the PS2 versions (Kareem CAPS NEED this since his CF is forever gone)

-Please Increase the shoe cap to 500

-Make use be able to have Home/Away shoes (ex. I wanna rock Black and White Reebok Shaqnois at home and switch it up to my custom "Bred" Reebok Pumps away

-Let us be able to choose Jersey Type AND length (Tight Jerseys like LeBron or Loose like Kobe, and Booty shorts like Wilt, short loose shorts like MJ, Knee High Shorts like present, or baggy and past the knee like AI)

-Layering Accessories (Knee Pad + Leg sleeve = compression shorts, or even better, MAKE THE PADDED SHORTS HAVE LENGTH, Short, Medium, or Long.)

-D-Rose wears Adidas compression shorts, medium socks and Black Adidas Ankle Braces, add THESE in since you already have Adidas stuff (sleeve and all that crap in myCloset) (also with the stackable accessories thing)

-The ability to edit a jersey set and be asked if I want to overwrite it (ex. I would manually change the Knicks away to have a darker blue)

-When I'm assigning body accessories, let me edit the colors I wear at home/away (ex. I would edit Kobe to where a Pink Sleeve with Red Hex Pads for Home and Puke Green Sleeve and Magenta Hex Pads for away). This eliminates any problem with teams with players who don't exactly wear the same colored accessories as others for both home/away (ex. The Knicks)

-While we're at color, REPLACE THE PRE DETERMINED COLOR WALL WITH A COLOR WHEEL.

I have another list with customization, but this is what I got for a quick thought in Accessories, I'll have more later.

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Accessories >>WISHES<<

I hate to break it all to you, but they haven't improved on accessories since I've started back up on the series with 2k11. When you think about what goes under the term "accessories" there are a couple of things that should stand out that we have never had the option of assigning to a player.

Goggles - You ever find it strange that if you go to edit Kirk Hinrich, he is wearing those goggles, but yet he is the only one? Where has this accessory been for the past 4 years, quite possibly more prior to 2k11? I think that having goggles as an accessory is more important then headbands to be honest with you strictly because goggles can tie into a players injury in the game.

Protective Face Mask - Again, this is only available (not available, but given) to one player, Richard Hamilton. Now when Kobe had to wear on a few years ago, wouldn't it had been nice to have had that accessory available to equip him with? This could tie into a players injury when suffering a concussion, broken nose, broken jaw.

Now why 2k could OVERLOOK these two obvious key accessories to athletes, especially baskeetball players and not INCLUDE them in their basketball game is kind of alarming...but hey as long we get new brands of shoes every year huh.

Fair enough, I just don't stay up to date with individual player accessory trends, e.g if they aren't wearing an arm sleeve anymore, or they now wear a headband etc. But if others do that, no problem.
