Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but "In the Air Tonight" is the song most closely identified with the Miami Vice TV show. I know it is in the track list for 2k14, but I can't imagine it was an accident to include that in the track list or in the biggest trailer release for the game featuring the King of South Beach.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
2k only influence this year was that they published it and helped on the presentation and it shows by the entrances and audio .
And why wouldn't it be right ? If a company goes bankrupt and you buy it you have total control over that company . Same goes for video game rights . wwe 14 was already in production so it made now since for 2k to scrap it completely and fall behind schedule and lose money for them and the wwe . So they kept some of the team to keep working on the game while having there lil input to help. Going forward it's 2k decision to do what they please , don't you think they want to add a MyCareer to the WWE franchise like they did for baseball and basketball ? Don't you think it's odd the player models don't look 2k 's but Smackdown like aka Yukes ?
We're getting off topic here, so I'll leave it at that.Comment

I understand all of that. I edited it into my post while you were typing that response. My point is(and still remains) that 2K hasn't said a word about letting Yukes go after WWE2K14 is done and shipped. Will they have an influence on things going forward? Sure. But as long as Yukes stays on as the main developer I don't think you'll being seeing these NBA player models and graphics in the game. I don't care who owns Yukes, if 2K don't clean house on the development side of things, it won't matter, as you need actual talent to do what the NBA2K team does.

And most likely 2k15 might not be a CG title so being on a NG console I bet the graphics will look a lot better . They will change the models . Look at UFC who was brought by EA they're changing everything from the previous employer of the license . The MMA game that was on 360 had the look of Fight Night so most likely if they did release UFC on 360 it would of had MMA / Fight Night graphics .

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
I've been asking myself what the 2K art and graphics team are going to be working on the next year. I mean most of the players are practically spot on, and they just finished 500-1000 of these. After they update the 60 draftees for 2014, then what?
I'd like for them to go back to existing players and polish them-- Kobe, backups like Fisher (if he's still playing) and Toney Douglas. Maybe do all the assistant coaches and training staff if they haven't already. Hah.
What's crazy is that I spotted real-looking non-players on the Houston bench, and wondered if they were real life assistants and trainers. I was so used to 2K only modelling people realistically if they were important or "somebody", and all non-important people looking like generic low-poly cartoon PS2 people.
Then it struck me that almost EVERYONE looks like a real person, including the camera man! Everybody is a somebody!
I can't tell you exactly why but somehow Kobe looked kinda 95% to me, as well as Iggy. They are near perfect but they didn't got me wood like the above mentioned did. But watching Nick Collision, who seems pretty much on par with Kobe in the visual way and who is a role player in this league, gave me the feeling that most players will have that 'near perfect' or 95% look. Yes, there was Toney Douglas but the guys at 2k are humans, no wizards.
What I wanna say is that I belive 2k will 'upgrade' certain players visually over the years for a coherent look on the court and if LeBron is the level to reach, they have work to do for coming years. I don't think they'll be bored anytime soon.
Plus, you can always improve at least something. And if they decide to put real life looking cheerleaders in the game, good for us. And as you already stated, there are always some rookies to create year in year out.
I'm just hoping they showed some love for my Nugget players.Comment

I am anxious to see what generated rookies and CAPs look like. They need to take a big step forward visually, otherwise they will stand out like a sore thumb even worse than they do now.Ryan Spencer

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
Do you guys really think they fixed wingspans for EVERY player, or just Durant?
Also do you guys think that we actually have home and away accessories, or 2K just edited that way for the trailer?NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
To ALL the people who said this was just a cgi trailer, and said this can't be actual gameplay. Think again!
I have been asked a couple times. Yes the game actually looks like that while playing. Obviously on broadcast your further away.

I think we have seen other companies pull that nonsense but 2k has not been one of themComment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
One thing I will give 2k is even going back to the 2k5 Football days when they show a trailer what you see in the trailer is wha the game actually looks like...I cannot recall one occasion where 2K ran the ole bait and switch. This is why I'm confident that this trailer is no doubt the game.

But really, that's one of the only times. And the NBA guys have definitely never done it.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
Yea they said that NG is gonna be a different game on it's own. What that means no one fully knows yet but they did say that there was gonna be a mode that would make us forget about my player.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
Those graphics are sick! Can you imagine the classic teams players like MJ, Hakeem, Bird, Magic and them with these graphics. I reckon the classic teams are not in because it would be too much work for 2k to do old players' faces realistically.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Next Gen Trailer
Just curious if anybody can tell e for sure.. I was watch the Heat/Nets preseason game last night and got a good look at LeBron's new tat across his front shoulders...
Thought I saw the answer posted before but will this be getting updated? Hopefully they have a lot of details down for ALOT of the players, not just stars... I think it makes everybody stand out on their own more, more unique... accessories, tattoos, hairstyles, sig styles, etc- One of One -
