    Re: NBA 2K14 Video - Next-Gen Gameplay

I knew that the "this game has been built from the ground up" line was far from the truth. The graphics look great, but it is obvious that not many gameplay aspects have been changed. I will be interested to know what build this gameplay is coming from, because I'm not impressed. Looks like current gen with better graphics and no sliding.

I'm still buying it though. I just knew better than to expect a drastic change. Similar to when the ps3 and 360 came out years ago.

        ^ Exactly.

        Ground up, new engine....rrrrright.

        They've become the new EA.

        - removing features
        - add them years later and call them new
        - naming features/engines

Let's be honest here. The reason 2K have tried to feed us the new engine, ground up bull is because they want us to double dip and unlike other companies, do not want to offer an upgrade option.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'm glad is has many current gen gameplay aspects. Because it's a winning formula.

Are planning on getting the game if not stop whining about it....****...

I'm waiting on aholberts impressions on the game since he actually played it. Since 2k is known for playing the game to actually feel the changes rather than watch a vid and pass judgment. If the impressions is not to your liking then there you go... you just saved yourself a purchase. Personally I look forward to getting my hands on this new version of 2k bball.

Trailers before real gameplay show us lies. Actual gameplay once again looks a lot less attractive than trailers. But don't get me wrong, game still looks good but not so good like I was hoping.

Don't fall into the trap, it's just Live fanboys trying to resurrect their game.

Even if they use the same gameplay "mechanics," they still have to build it from the ground up to mesh in the upgrade in graphics, wingspans, lighting, etc. So technically, they are still right, even if they are using most of the same animations from current-gen.

I figured this would be the same as last gen. With a new console I need new gameplay, so Live here I come.

This looks great and all, but again I am so amazed with my PC version much more. The thing im not liking here is that all the players look like they desperately need a haircut (trim) lol...and you have no choice but to deal with that the whole year....also was expecting to see a much smoother movement transition between the payers. It still looks great fellas

I guess im just spoiled. Since being in the PC mode, ive seen some amazing $%^ that will turn you white (ghostbusters)..just sayin

I just don't see what was so special about the gameplay video showm. That footage actually looked very current gen to me. I was watching it at my office with no sound and at first wondered if they were going to cut from 2k14 CG to footage of NG but was surprised that it was all PS4.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am sure there will be a few that flame mine, but that was very disappointing. It looks like the same exact 2k to me. Not that 2k is bad by any stretch, but I for one am a little burnt out on it. I was at least hoping for a big jump in graphics, especially after reading the recap from the presser yesterday. I remember 2k's visual leap at 360 launch and was floored. I just don't see it here.

I am left thinking 2k was serving some serious Kool Aid there because that look far from groundbreaking, next gen stuff to me.

I would really like to see how the dribble animations and control measure up against live14. Hopefully 2k added more animations with the next gen version because 2k eliminated several dribble animations from 2k12 to 13 when they introduced the new dribble scheme to the right stick

Some of these comments are mind blowing. If you can't see the huge upgrade in graphics..then your eyes need checking. It was a super short compressed video. Wait for better videos or a live stream

in the trailer, hard to tell it was a video game. the way they moved, the way they animated. in this preview you could tell from the first frame that its a video game
In the trailer, it was a less compressed video and it ran 1080p at 60 fps. In this preview vid, the footage is compressed to hell at 720p and running at 30 fps. It's suppose to look robotic and not as smooth (less frames, less detail). When someone uploads a less compressed version, then, we will see smooth and less robotic animations. This game will be awesome.
