Why no devs or 2K representatives reply in this thread?
We're asking an honest question about a feature they marketed, it would be nice to show some respect and give us some answers

Who wrote the blogs? Yea I forgot it takes a lot for someone to write a blog entry. A damn intern could have done it. ROnnie could have done it.

Again, NOBODY knows who dude is but we know 10 other people that work for this company.

A made up character so nobody can be blamed for it.
2K Sports, Ronnie, and LDK2 know who he is...

I don't know the names of my garbage collector(s), but I'm pretty sure they exist since my garbage is picked up every Monday minus holidays.

The fantasy idea of an all knowing basketball guru didn't exist. However, an individual who was paid to be the "2K Insider" did.

The point is that whoever said they were the Insider, wrote and responded to the blog was the Insider in the same way that I'm Kaanyr vhok.

Edit: Man or man/woman imitating persona or whatever whoever it was, was in my opinion in over their head.

The insider never shut down the overall argument. If I was the Insider I would have explained why 1-5 points in overall doesnt matter and put it in a bold sticky on top of the forum. It might matter in how the CPU manages it's minutes but that's another issue. Instead of shutting it down The Insider responded to it raising and lowering ratings just to tickle the overall. Maybe im wrong but that was my impression.

Like I said before The Insider never established a system. It took forever for Aldridge to get a jumpshot. I complained that Aldridge's shooting ratings belonged on Moses Malone months before he was updated. Even today you can tell that they have a system for shooting ratings but that's about it. I could make the same complaint about Batum's passing. In 11'12 he averaged 1.4 assist. He was a pure catch and shoot type player. You could tell he had a little playmaker in his game but it wasnt on display. Last season he averaged 4.9, now he averages 6.1. Rating has not changed from 11'12 if ever. He still has a lower pass rating than Matthews. He is also averaging 7 boards up from 5.6 which was up from 4.6. Not going to hold my breath.

This tells me that either this Insider didnt have much enthusiasm for the job or was on tight strings ie wasnt really a paid position (but didnt he fly to training camps lol). There are guys that have fun doing this stuff for free. Imagine if these free time roster editors were paid a living wage, or a competitive wage?

Ah...this brings back memories, lol. However, this was another reason why I liked the blog format. People could rep their teams if they wanted to.

I don't believe there is a insider now (maybe for the last 2 years). I wonder if I could found some of his old blog post.

This just in from Ld2k: "Stay tuned..." lol
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

You know what is SAD. Instead of admitting there is NO INSIDER, they like to do the Whole SMOKE and MIRRORS thing. It is like they are stuck in Middle school Mode with thinking it is cool to deceive their friends. A MULTI- Million Dollar Company SHOULD just Hire a couple guys to do the Job. I am sure that would be cheaper than paying for these STAT updates(havent seen much yet). If i was involved with OTHER areas of the Game, i would be EMBARRASSED as how the ROSTER part is handled.

People will say if you hire guys THEY wont be subjective with their Ratings, but here is thing a GOOD BASE Roster with ALL Players would BLOW AWAY what you have now. The BEST Roster Makers take the time to edit EACH Player and Team, not playing favorites with Players and Teams.

                    Re: So...where is STATS Inc.?

(I said basically the same thing in another thread, but it seems more appropriate here...)

I hate the way that Stats is updating ratings. It's like they pick a couple individual ratings categories and then adjust them slightly for every single player (ie, they adjust everyone's 3pt rating, but completely ignore the majority of ratings, such as MED shot, or Off/Def Awareness, etc). So, we end up with not a single player completely revamped, and all the ratings incorrect.

Also, 5-10 games into the season is not enough of a sample size to adjust everyone's rating, especially veterans who have established themselves. They should only be focusing on the younger players and the players who are massively miss-rated. Do we really think LeBron's rebounding isn't going to creep back up toward where it's been most of his career??

And since they are doing only incremental adjustments to some of the ratings (which weren't correct to begin with), we end up with the younger players still significantly miss-rated. This makes young players like Anthony Davis and Evan Turner either go down or stay relatively the same OVR, even though they deserve massive increases across several individual ratings.

(And I can't stand the arrows - just update the ratings!)

Just because you feel it, doesn't mean it's there.

Exactly. They are mainly updating the only good ratings... The shooting ratings which have been decent since 2k10 when they used 82games.com err hoopsdata get tweaks while all the poor ratings are ignored.

marketing a feature, basically LYING because that feature doesn't seem to be there at all, I think is disrespectful
