I have both but I haven't got past the first trial game in 2k 11's My Career.
2K11 Myplayer was different because you started out as a 40-44 OVR, could be picked in Round 2, and had to work your way up through the summer circuit and could possibly end up in the D League (like i did on my first MP haha). I actually really liked that still because in that game it was a lot easier to get Skill Points than it is to get VC now so your guy would upgrade faster, plus it was fun but also frustrating to start out terrible.

That sounds great. I like the depth. They should have kept that in there. I heard team mate AI is atrocious though and that you have to play hero ball all the time. that true?

                1. 2K11
                Big gap
                2. 2K13
                3. 2K12
                Big gap
                4. 2K14

I dunno why people are rating 2K14 high. I think it's trash overall (although I'm still playing)

I'm no expert but my opinion on graphics and gameplay. Just got 14 but I am seeing things I never saw before. All Star Default Simulation.

Don't see a lot of 2K8 being listed, I wonder why, it was great with simulation when tweaked correctly.

As far as game play goes..
                    2K11
                    2K14
                    2K8
                    2K10
                    2K13

                    Not even gonna list 2K12

                    For my personal enjoyment

Re: Ranking Current Gen Versions of 2K

I'll base it only on the games I've played

                      1. NBA 2K11
To me, this is the complete package. Gameplay on both sides of the ball felt right, the introduction of classic teams and the Jordan Challenge was a huge boost to the series as well.

                      2. NBA 2K12
It's all about Greatest Mode for me. That was taking legend/classic teams to a whole new level. The era-specific presentation and rules were a nice touch, too. So many good teams in this game and with Portlandblazer's roster, a lot of the ills that plagued this game (no CPU double-teams, sliding on defense) were corrected.

                      3. NBA 2K14
A more-refined version of 2K13. I haven't had a lot of time yet with this game, but I have enjoyed it so far and am glad the Jay-Z presentation has been removed. Defense seems improved, too.

                      4. NBA 2K7
This was the first game I bought when I picked up a 360. It just had a certain fun-factor to it that made me play it for two straight years.

                      5. NBA 2K10
There's some strong elements here (post game), but I had more fun with NBA Live 10 that year, so hard for me to rank this game any higher.

                      6. NBA 2K13
The first 2K I owned that I didn't play for an entire calendar year. I just was not a fan of the Jay-Z presentation, the VC becoming such a huge part of the game and then all of the issues with 2K Share pushed me over the top. Gameplay-wise I felt like it was way too easy to get into the paint and dunk 10-plus times a game. If you played on 12-minute quarters, you could easily score 110-plus points a game. No defense at all.

                            NBA 2k11

details of paint, of the Jerseys ..
NBA 2k11 is my favourite! P.Jackson, Triangle Offense. I see that i'm not alone to choose 2k11 in first position.

2k12 with Anfernee, Robinson, Hardaway, L Johnson, Webber. to play legend mode with great atmosphere! Triangle button to make great moov with Jordan!!!

                            2k9, watch this!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mYCemzvomI
                            Graphics were so perfect!
