Re: How do you guys make this game enjoyable?
Personally I think this game is by far the best basketball game ever, I havent had this much fun playing basketball since the CH2k8 days. Sure it has some flaws but all in all its very well done IMO. Sliders are the key to getting a simulation game. I always make my own sliders and it didnt take me near as long this year as it has in the past to find the right spot for the sliders to make it a realistic game.
What I would do if I were you is mess around with the sliders rather that taking someones else's sliders cause everyone skill set and the way they play is different, so I perosnally believe its always best to do your own. I do look at other sets once in a while just to see if there is something that might help me, but this year it didnt take to much to find that sweet spot like in years past."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
yea but will they take psn cards

Re: How do you guys make this game enjoyable?
took me a while to get into basketball mode. But now that I am; I have to say that this game is truly enjoyable.
like others have said build your own team.
The way I run my association is as follows:
pick a team, start a fantasy draft, let the cpu pick your players and run with it. If you are over the salary cap, trade players to get under the cap. another rule to employ is, that after the draft if you have players that are usually starters on your bench, you have to trade them. In other words, if Hibbert backs up Howard, you either have to trade Howard or Hibbert.
play shorter quarter lengths.
I have 2 association modes going.
1.first association is 12 minute quarters/ 14 games
2. second association 3 minute quarters 82 game schedule, with foul out set to 3. scores usually fall between 16 - 36 points per team. this is very fun cause every possession counts, and every foul has a bigger impact on the outcome.
(the ai shines with this, there's alot of things youll see game-play wise)Last edited by tril; 01-19-2014, 05:48 PM.Comment

How do you guys make this game enjoyable?
For me, my stick stills aren't as good as most here so I set the game to Rookie/Casual and I'm having a blast! For all sports games, once you except that console games can never be true simulations of real sports then you can have fun with it....Comment

Re: How do you guys make this game enjoyable?
Honestly for me once I realized that it was a video game and not real life is when I started enjoying it. I spent years trying to find the right sliders and rosters and it became stressful lol. I find enjoyment playing with default sliders and rosters.Comment

Re: How do you guys make this game enjoyable?
Playing realistic ball is fun for me, but whatever is fun for you, do it. If that's making an all star team and playing 2 minute quarters or playing 12 minutes with the jazz lol. There's lots of options between the lebron mode, blacktop, team up, my career, etc. In the end ITS BASKETBALL. It might be the best basketball game ever created in my opinion and I wasnt a big fan of 2k13 and i think 2k12 was trash.
If you said specifically what type of player you are or specifically what bothers you/bores you about the game I could offer more help.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

Online associations are pretty much broken so no luck there.
As far as online matches, there's plenty of sim heads here that go head to head. There's a thread here somewhere on posting gt/ps id's.
To each his own but I haven't had this much fun on a 2k game since 2k11.Student of the game. #Fundamentals

I play with a friend every weekend. We play on the couch, offline, no cheese, play like real coaches. Play like men. We both still think it's the best basketball game ever made regardless of its problems.Comment

The TRIFECTA project in the roster section offers a pretty good association experience(or quick games). I've heard it works well with my career too. I think it's being ported to ps3 too.

I was going to say the same! I'm using the TRIFECTA rosters and also their slider set. Along with "The Gamechangers" fantasy draft classes. Both groups of dudes work tirelessly and i can hands down say this has become the most fun video gaming experience i have had in my life
