Re: Comeback Feature/Momentum swings are making me throw this game into the dumpster
I normally don't believe in any of these kind of video game "momentum" type phenomenons, but sometimes I really do have to wonder... I played a game the other night that was so ridiculous I almost joined the OP in throwing the game in the dumpster. I had a 9 point lead on my opponent with a few minutes to go in the 4th quarter. The guy I'm playing just starts doing NOTHING but shooting contested 3's with Kevin Durant, to try and bring him back. Funny thing is, is that it worked. I **** you not, this guy made 5 CONTESTED *** 3's in a row. Literally. I had Paul George's hand in Kevin Durant's eye sockets on every contest, but no. 5 in a row contested garbage 3's to close out the 4th. I really could not believe it. So yea, I guess that's my roundabout way of saying, I think it's possible there could be a momentum system.
Yes!!!! I was up by 11 with a little under two minutes left and got sent to overtime!!! He was making everything in the world. Also another time this guy made three straight 3s with derrick rose in like a minute

it's in the signature skills. the offensive ones are bit over powered, but you can stop these miraculous comebacks by using players on your roster with defensive stopper signature skills. etc.Comment

Re: Comeback Feature/Momentum swings are making me throw this game into the dumpster
nah, it really happens. ive played many games offline and online where ill be winning and my opponent will make a couple big buckets in a row, then all of a sudden my players will do the most stupid things like let a pass bounce right off their hands with no one around them. trust me, it does happen and it happens fairly often. its so cheesy and annoying.Comment

PS - Even Microsoft programmers will try to tell you that their code isn't designed to certain things. Well I can say that they've been proven wrong. They're not willing to admit it until I show them proof of their ignorance.Last edited by NiTeMaReWaLKeR; 03-05-2014, 02:34 PM.Comment

Re: Comeback Feature/Momentum swings are making me throw this game into the dumpster
2K has been a complete gimmick since 2K11.. Momentum swings and "sig skills" are used to help the garbage gamer compete with those who actually understand the NBA, real basketball, and the movements of the game...
So you're telling me because someone has a "scrapper" sig skill he'll grab the rebound over me when I have 3 defenders all in position that DONT have that same skill? A stupid sig skill shouldnt determine the success rate that my player will grab a rebound. If im boxing out and in position the timing of jumping up to the ball is what matters.
Thats only 1 example... The sig skills play too much of a role in the determination of what goes on on the court. As a result, my players are left without any actual AI intelligence.
The developers arent the ones actually out on the court playing the game, and understanding the flow and movements. They dont play basketball, or probably was never good at it.. They dont understand plays or court spacing, cutting to the basket, getting open etc.
What they do understand is people who dont understand bball want a game they can pick up and play, so they implement stupid skills to make them feel like theyre actually good at the gameComment
