    Association Mode Question

I'm not sure if nba2k14 does this but anyone know if u can send down players down to the development league and if u can if u can track their stats down in the development league or not?

    Re: Association Mode Question

Simple answer: they took out D-League since 2k13 as it offers nothing to the mode.

Would definitely be more useful if they reworked it and made it more involved. I thought it was pointless in 2k12 bc you could really only just call people up and send them down. You couldn't track stats really.

What do you mean you couldn't track stats? Yes you could, the stats were readily available if you ever bothered looking at the D-League team you sent him to

I enjoyed having D-League and sending down promising prospects to see how they develop.

It was also a nice bonus if your D-League team won the championship.

It was also intersting to see veteran D-Leaguers who sometimes won contracts or sometimes just stayed there, but either way it was inspiring to see them succeed somewhere isntead of just sitting dead in the FA pool like they do currently.

I would argue it was a great addition to Association mode.

Make sure 2K knows this... so they can add it to the list of things that they'll never do.

You misundestood what i meant by "offers nothing to the mode"

              a) The players in the D-League were neither real players in the D-League, nor editable in anyway
              b) The players you sent down, contrary to widespread belief, did not actually 'develop' by gettign game time in the D-League.

It literally offered no more than giving you two free roster spots by sending two players under 25 with less 4 years experience to the broken D-League. This isn't even how it works in real life as players sent down are still counted to the NBA team's salary cap and roster spot.

So not only was not a good reflection of the D-League in real life, it didn't even develop your prospects.

They've taken it out to rework it.

It needs to be in so that you can send down players, whilst accurately keeping roster spots. But also having some sort of beneift to the players.

Also they should really get a contract with the D-League so they can have the rosters accurate with players in real life. That would make people actually want to call up players from the D-League rather than have all those useless generic CAPs filling up teams.

It's probably true that they didn't "develop" in the conventional sense (although I've never seen any devs say whether they did or didn't), but still it helped me to evaluate prospects; strengths, weaknesses, etc. For example I sent two PFs down back on 2k11 and because I was trying to keep it semi-realistic by not looking at tendencies, editable stats etc it was great get a feel for which one was the better blocks specialist for example, or with wing players I could see who was efficient and who wasn't, or which players loved being the #1 options - it definitely helped me evaluate prospects.

So when my Center got injured for an extended period of time, I knew which prospect to bring up to make sure our team had the best chance of succeeding.

also, on point a) I completely disagree. There were a lot of FAs in the D-League as well, and not only could you sign them (I think you could sign any D-League player) to contracts but you could edit them as well, just as you could edit anybody from the FA pool.
